CanuckInUSA 0 #4 February 2, 2005 QuoteWho is TO? I'm guessing it's Terrell Owens of the Eagles. You know one of those over paid, spoiled and immature professional athletes who've lost touch with reality. God uses different events in our lives to invite us to the realization of his presence. It all depends on your point of view. I think you're right. I can just imagine God sitting in his barkalounger with his Eagles jersey on getting ready for kickoff. He yells to the other room: Hey mom, could you get me a beer, the game is just about to start. From the other room you hear: Get off your lazy ass and go give the world peace and end hunger while you're at it. Its not like you don't know who's going to win the stupid game anyway. kelpdiver 2 #7 February 2, 2005 I get the sense that TO is getting as much publicity as he can right now, because he *won't* be playing and all reporting will focus on the winning Pats once the game has begun. He is a big factor in their success this year, so gibe the man a bone, I guess.

Beliefs are cool, but to be that full of one's self, to think that God has chosen him to lead his people into the Superbowl and on to victory, that ego is just asking to get popped like an overblown balloon. EricTheRed 0 #16 February 3, 2005 Because any God worth worshiping wouldn't break teh leg of some egomaniac just to show that he could heal him in time for a argueably meaningless game. This jerk thinks the universe revolves around him just because he is fast, strong and has good hand/eye coordination? I don't belittle him because he believes in God, I belittle him because he apparently thinks he IS a god.illegible usually

Job is often misunderstood, if you're gonna reference scripture at face value at least try to understand it. The shit hits the fan when God allows the devil to have influence in Job's life and ultimately Job gets it all back when he stops listening to assholes (shame about the wife & kids but oh well, he gets replacements).
