To all Christians out there.

Proof is important

Religions don't seem to think so.

That’s quite a broad statement lump summing all religions together. I’m assuming that you’re attacking Christianity with your statement, though. I guess it all depends on what you consider proof and how much trust you have in its authenticity.

Quote

Otherwise, you're just spreading unsubstantiated accusations

Quote

I don't have the time to look through three books to find a sentance.

Then you shouldn’t make the claim.

Quote

That ever stops anyone?

No. It doesn’t stop anyone. However, it does nothing for your credibility nor does it make it right just because others do so.

Quote

Not a very good way to discredit the person you're arguing with

Quote

If you look at the start of this BS I asid that DA wrote that. He then accused me of accusing him. He could have said maybe, Im not sure but he blew it up.

Seems like a silly reason to start a shouting match accomplishing nothing.

Quote

Like I said I could not care what he thinks. If Ihave the time between work and school to read some I'll look for it....Till then we will have me thinking he copied it, and him saying he did not.

And it will continue to mean nothing without proof. It will also continue to make you look bad.

Quote

Like I said not worth my time either way.

Probably not worth his or mine either.

Not an attack, a statement.

I have every right to amke any claim I wish. If I choose not to spend hours looking for a sentance in a book it is my right as well.

I didn't start it, I made a statement. He turned it into a shouting match, and you continue it.

I can live with that. It's you and him that got all upset about it.

Quote

Probably not worth his or mine either.

But yet you are still here?

I frankly don't care what you think.

You have to live with what you do, not me.

Living with the knowledge that I'm innocent is a tough cross to bear, but I think I'll manage. :o

If you have time to panic, you have time to do something more productive. -Me*

So stick it on a Christian message board.

There would be more mouth breathers there who might appreciate it.

So, you had to come into a thread that you obviously have no interest in, just to post an insult? [:/]

hmm well i just finshed scanning the 'trilogy' and while it is possible i could have missed it, i dont really think it is there... now there is a further possibility that it is in one of the Dirk Gently books, but i cant check those atm as i've lent them out at some point...

actually if it is an Adam's quote i'd expect it to be there vs the Guide as Gently is much more the type of character to DO something productive, while the majority of the Guide's characters would simply panic...;)

was a good excuse to read DA again... have to get the Gently books back as well

There is also the pretty high liklihood that, if Douglas Adams had said "If . . . panic," it would come up on a google search for D.A. quotes containing the word panic. I haven't seen it yet.

Thanks for posting that! I have always loved Paul Harvey and even as a small child, I looked forward to hearing his voice on the radio. I am gonna print that out and keep it in my wallet. Thanks again, I really enjoyed reading it and it lifted my spirits!!!!!

Thanks for your thanks.:)
Speaking for myself, coming from a Christian perspective; I do see a wave of attacks on Christianity in this country. Anything from debunking what Christmas or Easter means to us to debunking the validity we believe in the Bible. I don't know why this is happening. I have many theories, but nothing I would post.

The point I am making by posting Paul Harvey's essay is that no matter how many objections there are to Christianity, true Christians are not going to change their mind. I've read all the posts here with their links and not one of them have changed my mind. I also addressed this thread to all Christians out there because I am not trying to force my belief on non-Christians.

Anyway, Thank God we are a free nation(s) and can express dissenting opinions.

Chris
