I'm not saying they do or don't actually deserve them, but it seems odd in light of what has transpired.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

jdhill 0 #3 December 14, 2004 I found it a bit odd as well... In Tenet's case, there are a fair number of fingers pointing in the CIAs direction over 9/11 and Iraq. Bremmer has had a long carrer at the DoS, but let Iraq get stablized before you pin a medal on his chest... but the one you left out of the title, and the one the confuses me most is Franks... not that he doesn't deserve a medal, but that he doesn't deserve the highest *civilian* medal... yes he is a civilian now, but his acheivements were while in uniform... I'm sure he got a retierment medal, probably one for the Afgan and Iraq campaigns as well... but he has not done anything in the short time he has been out. billvon 3,116 #5 December 14, 2004 Why is it odd? Giving everyone a medal is a time-tested way of making people feel better about their actions.
skymiles 3 #6 December 14, 2004 It’s amazing – you can screw up that bad and still be awarded a medal! Tennet – said that the WMDs in Iraq were a “slam-dunk”. Bremmer – immediately disbanded the Iraqi army. Franks – went in with too few troops to secure the peace. Phil

slug 1 #8 December 14, 2004 Hi John Checked you reference to the medal prediction. Damn We could start a comedy routine together, I set em up and you knock em down. Up up better than argueing in circles R.I.P.
