TheAnvil 0 #1 December 11, 2004 ...how much we've lost as a nation due to the inane zero-defect mentality we have with regards to political Clicky. Those who have brought about this mentality for partisan purposes have less love for their country than their political party and are therefore unfit to hold office. Members of both parties are at fault. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
quade 4 #2 December 11, 2004 This is not a minor defect for a guy that would have been in charge of, among other things, making sure the borders were secure. Nobody from outside the small vetting circle knew about this before hand and he or they took him out of what would have been a fiasco had any sort of confirmation hearings taken place.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
kallend 2,150 #3 December 11, 2004 Do you think it acceptable that the people governing us should be tax cheats and violators of immigation law? Do you approve of hypocrites running the government?... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

slug 1 #6 December 12, 2004 Quote Do you think it acceptable that the people governing us should be tax cheats and violators of immigation law? Do you approve of hypocrites running the government? IMO The following comment applies to any political party. Negative But doesn't a person have to be a hypocrite to get elected? Kind of like looking for a 20 YO Virgin in a whore house. Of course eveyone is born a virgin but the longer they work in the whore house the less virgin like they become. Leaving politics and lables out of it IMO the peanut man was the most honest person we had in the white house in the last 45 yr's. And he continues in his retired life to represent a good example of public service. Fire at will (R.I.P.) with the flame throwers. But try and do it without political lables Or your disqualified. Try it you might like it. 41 R.I.P.
PhreeZone 20 #7 December 12, 2004 I agree that the zero defect mentality is totally off basis. There is no way that a person can reach a high level of political power or even just reach middle age would having a few issues in the past. In the 80's if you admitted to toking up in the middle of the War on Drugs that would be enough. Have an affair at some point in your life and you'd be damn sure it got brought up during your confirmation process.I think that all people have some defects, but the question is on where to draw the line. In this case is it just the tax issues? Does it get worse with the possibility of the nanny being an illegal? Does the possibility of the whole Tazer stock effect anything? How about the possibility of outstanding arrest warrents? At point do a persons defects make them unsuitable for public office?Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

I don't think it at all appropriate for someone who's evaded paying taxes to be a member of the government. We have a record deficit as it is. Really BAD example to set. I don't think it appropriate for someone who's hired illegal aliens to join the cabinet either. We have a massive illegal alien problem that would mostly disappear if no-one gave them jobs. It's the employers that encourage them to come. I'd be more inclined to overlook a sex and drug scandal than tax evasion. Maybe a zero tolerance policy will lose us an occasional competent person, but keep it up for a while and the ambitious government wannabees will soon learn that they have to keep their noses clean if they want to get to the top.... This guy went from a street cop to police commisoner of NYC in 15 yr's. You don't go that far that fast by "keepng your nose clean". Brown nose maybe. He's a business partner with the ex mayor Mr G. PhreeZone 20 #10 December 12, 2004 >This guy went from a street cop to police commisoner of NYC in 15 yr's. And declared bankrupcy right before getting promoted to police commisoner too I still don't get that about America. We let people that can't even manage their own money get into positions where they are responcible for large amounts of public money or private company money. If they can't fiscally manage their own lives what makes you think that by giving them millions or billions more of other people money they will do a better job? But declaring bankruptcy is often just a gambit in a financial management strategy. It's only for the likes of you and me that it implies inability to manage our finances....
