lawrocket 3 #4 December 3, 2004 Public school policy is set by elected school boards who represent the community. If you don't like what they do, vote them out at the next election and run for office yourself. Blaming the [president] for school policy is like blaming the gun for the recent Wisconsin hunter killings. The people running the school district are the elected representatives of their community. I agree, but these programs are being created and paid for by the Administration which has considerable coercive power (by way of funding) over local boards. So the Administration bears a lot of responsibility here.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

But, it seems that you are arguing that the school boards are no better than any other corporate whore. Gawain 0 #13 December 4, 2004 Lying to kids is not only good for them (for it prepares them for disappointment down the road of life), but it's also fun: (from Jack Handy's deep thoughts): When a kid asks me why it's raining, I think it's cute to tell them that God is crying. When they ask me why God is crying, I think it's kinda cute to tell them, "Probably because of something you did." So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
