Lie to the kids - it's good for them

Recommended Posts

"I have no objection to talking about abstinence as a surefire way to prevent unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. I don't think we should lie to our children about science," Waxman told the newspaper.

Feck, I don't think we should lie to grown ups about science either......:S

Public school policy is set by elected school boards who represent the community. If you don't like what they do, vote them out at the next election and run for office yourself.

Blaming the [president] for school policy is like blaming the gun for the recent Wisconsin hunter killings.

The people running the school district are the elected representatives of their community.

I agree, but these programs are being created and paid for by the Administration which has considerable coercive power (by way of funding) over local boards. So the Administration bears a lot of responsibility here.

No more like Pavlovs experiment.

You say something bad....Most times its something bad about Bush.

So the automatic response is logical given the amount of times it has happened.

Well, name 1 or more positive things Bush has done for the people. Please, no descency back into the White House stuff, or I'll have to break out the criminal record stuff.

Describe legislatioin or the sort where Bush ahs done well for the US......some objective stuff.

Take your own anti-Bush advice...Move on.;)

And as For criminal record...Well at least Bush's criminal acts were before he was in office, unlike Clintons:o

I agree,

I would hope so. Those are your words, verbatim, from other recent posts. I'll call it "sampling" so I don't owe you anything. :P

But, it seems that you are arguing that the school boards are no better than any other corporate whore. They care not about the children, but care instead about the money, or at least care more about the money...

Lying to kids is not only good for them (for it prepares them for disappointment down the road of life), but it's also fun:

(from Jack Handy's deep thoughts): When a kid asks me why it's raining, I think it's cute to tell them that God is crying. When they ask me why God is crying, I think it's kinda cute to tell them, "Probably because of something you did."

:D:ph34r::):P
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!
