Condi Rice to Become Sec State

Recommended Posts

> Bill you infuriate me!

Sorry, I guess I misunderstood you. To me, race or gender doesn't enter into it much. There are good and bad secretaries of state. You have to be pretty successful to make it there to begin with. If she's successful, she'll be an inspiration to people. If she's a bad one, then she won't be.

I'm sure many parents tell their kids "if you study hard and try your best, you can be anything you want - even a president like Bush!" (or Clinton, or Kennedy.) I have a feeling not many say "if you eat your carrots you can be a president like Nixon."

I hate this woman. I do not think she is the right person for the job and I do not think she will work well with other world power leaders. To top it off, she cannot lie very well at all. I get sick when I see hear on Sunday morning shows. I believe Powell was the only sane voice in the upper cabinet and now that he is gone, no telling what may happen.:|

To top it off, she is DAMN UGLY!:P;):)

Just a guess......voted for Kerry didn't ya?:P

I always said that she was nothing but a mouthpiece for the administration. Powell realized, although too late, that this is what he had become. It didn't take long for him to jump ship, leaving the rats to the vessel.
How long before his tell all book?

Tell us please, what Dr. Rice has done to earn such hatred.
:S

She poses a grave threat to Queen Hillary's run for POTUS in '08. Dems are gonna have a difficult time bashing her and getting away with it.
Please don't dent the planet.

What amazes me is how the Democrats and the Black community have done nothing but bash Powell and Rice.

Rice grew up in poverty in Alabama, put herself through college and earned a Phd. A spokesperson and potential leader in the Black community. She exeplifies what hard work and determination can provide. As does Powell.

However, the Democrats who like to say they are the party for minorities even though they have done NOTHING more than the Republicans have done for minorities, continue to bash this woman. Instead the Black community and the Dems push out people Like Jessie Jackson, and Sharpton as leaders, when if fact these 2 people are nothing but racists.

IMO the black community should stand up and look around and see what the Bush administration is doing for their people. Getting them world recognition and helping pave the way for more diversity in Federal politics.....

The democrats are not out to help the plight of minorities anymore than anyone else.... I wish minority groups would wake up and realize this.

:S

On May 16th, 2002, Rice said “I don't think anybody could have predicted that these people would take an airplane and slam it into the World Trade Center, take another one and slam it into the Pentagon. [No one predicted] that they would try to use an airplane as a missile, a hijacked airplane as a missile,"[CBS News, 5/17/02]. But according to the bipartisan 9/11 commission report, “intelligence reports from December 1998 until the attacks said followers of bin Laden were planning to strike U.S. targets, hijack U.S. planes, and two individuals had successfully evaded checkpoints in a dry run at a New York airport,” [Reuters, 7/24/03]. More specifically, “White House officials acknowledged that U.S. intelligence officials informed President Bush weeks before the Sept. 11 attacks that bin Laden's terrorist network might try to hijack American planes.” [ABC News, 5/16/03]

Throughout 2002 and early 2003, Rice repeatedly insisted that the Administration sought a peaceful solution to the Iraq conflict and that war was only a last resort. In October of 2002, she said, “We're going to seek a peaceful solution to this. We think that one is possible” [CBS, 10/20/02]. Then in November of 2002, she said, “We all want very much to see this resolved in a peaceful way” [Briefing, 11/21/02]. In March of 2003, she claimed “we are still in a diplomatic phase here” [ABC, 3/9/03]. However, according to Richard Haas, Bush’s director of policy planning at the State Department, the decision had already been made by July of 2002. When asked exactly when he learned war in Iraq was definite, Haas said, “The moment was the first week of July (2002), when I had a meeting with Condi. I raised this issue about were we really sure that we wanted to put Iraq front and center at this point, given the war on terrorism and other issues. And she said, essentially, that that decision's been made, don't waste your breath. And that was early July. So then when Powell had his famous dinner with the President, in early August, 2002 [in which Powell persuaded Bush to take the question to the U.N.] the agenda was not whether Iraq, but how” [New Yorker, 3/31/03]

When questioned about why she did not raise objections to the bogus Iraq-nuclear claim in Bush’s State of the Union speech, Rice said on June 8 that "no one in our circles knew that there were doubts and suspicions that this might be a forgery” [AP, 7/23/03] However, a month later, the White House acknowledged that “the CIA sent two memos to the White House in October voicing strong doubts about a claim President Bush made three months later in the State of the Union address that Iraq was trying to buy nuclear material in Africa” [Washington Post, 7/23/03].

Shall I go on?

Why do you keep bringing up the black thing? If she does a good job, she will be a good SoS. Judge her on that.

That's what I was wondering. I don't like Bush either. Is it because I'm racist against white people, too?

These guys are saying she should be looked up to because she is a black (actually, isn't she hispanic?) in a prominent position. I say bull shit. A shit head is a shit head no matter what their color.

They only care about themselves. RainbowPush and the NAACP are not civil rights organizations - their new purpose is to deliver votes to the democratic party when called upon.

Idiots is a good way to describe them, my friend.

After the comming 4 years there is a good chance that Powell will jump on board with the Democrats to distant himself from Iraq. If by chance he were to jump to another ship there would be a good possibilty that he would win the Dem ticket taking Hillary on as the vp. 8 years of Powell and Clinton then a Clinton run in 2016. Powell could easily take out Rice. He has far more clout the Dr. Rice. As brilliant as Dr. Rice is she is but a parrot for the Bush administration. Powell left because he sees a bleak outcome and would no longer put up a false face. If he does have any desire to run for Prez his only hope is to jump ship.

Today's Nuze | November 19, 2004

Condoleezza Rice has been nominated as the first black female secretary of state less than a week after the resignation of Colin Powell, and already the left has their slings and arrows out, determined to destroy this woman. This, if you're paying attention, shows you their true colors. Now you can see the intolerance of the left. Their message is simple: minorities are good as long as they know their place. And the place for minorities is in the Democratic Party and on the liberal side of the political fence. Stray from the designated minority path and you get what Condi Rice is getting now.

If Dr. Rice had been nominated by a Democrat, we would be right in the middle of a weeks-long media swoon about how she is the smartest woman in the world, about how whatever Democrat that nominated her was a brave, principled leader, and on and on.
But because George Bush nominated her, she is being portrayed as a lackey Bush loyalist that can't think for herself. Yet this is only the beginning.

The media is attacking Condi with political cartoons that are beyond racist (see below). You can only imagine what would happen if a conservative cartoonist created a cartoon using basic black stereotypes to make fun of a black Democratic nominee? The liberal lynch mobs would be out front with pitch forks before the second edition came out. The cartoonists are demeaning a black conservative now ... so not a peep.
Will race pimps like Jesse Jackson defend Condoleezza Rice?

How about Al "The Liar" Sharpton?

Will the useless NAACP come to her defense?

Will other so-called "civil rights" groups and race warlords hail the importance of her appointment as the first black female secretary of state?

What about the National Organization for Women? Will NOW be celebrating this appointment?

You know the answer to all of these questions ... and that answer is not only "no," but "hell no." Of course not, and the reason is simple: these groups were never about protecting anyone's rights except those of liberal Democrats.

Never forget...there are two sets of rules not only for the media, but for the civil rights hacks out there. One set for the Democrats and one for Republicans.
