Rebecca 0 #1 November 16, 2004 How freakin' retarded is this? Marine's ex-wife jailed for attempted murder First, they tried stabbing him in the neck. That didn't work. Then, they tried shooting him - with a potato silencer on the gun- that didn't work either. Then they were gonna poison him, but they got themselves arrested first. I wish all criminals were this stupid and incompetent. Seriously though, glad the dude's alright (relatively speaking - he did marry the idiot psycho) Quote SAN DIEGO - The ex-wife of a Marine was sentenced Monday to nearly 11 years in prison for a bungled plot with her lover to kill him to collect life insurance money. Astrid K. Tepatti, 22, pleaded guilty in August to attempted murder, admitting she sneaked into her husband's home on the Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base in January and fired a revolver at him. The bullet lodged in the sofa where Sgt. Stephen Tepatti was sleeping. He was unhurt. Tepatti's lesbian lover, Ebony Wood, admitted making a makeshift silencer from a potato and driving Astrid Tepatti to the base. Wood, 21, also pleaded guilty to attempted murder, saying she had been promised proceeds from the husband's life insurance policy. She is scheduled to be sentenced in December. It was not the only effort by the women to kill the Marine, authorities said. The same day as the shooting, the women were arrested on a highway about 150 miles east of San Diego, and a bag of ricin was found in the car. The women had made the deadly poison from castor beans with the idea of killing Tepatti, according to court documents and authorities. In late 2003, according to the FBI (news - web sites), the women tried to kill Tepatti by luring him to the beach and stabbing him in the neck. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk? wmw999 2,589 #2 November 16, 2004 Sounds like part 2 of "I Love You to Death" coming up Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
