nacmacfeegle 0 #26 November 10, 2004 I met the Queen Mum once, she seemed all right to me. "Charles is our wanker though, so back off." Absolutely.-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. DrunkMonkey 0 #27 November 10, 2004 To all my English brethren: I am an American, of Irish/English extraction (go figure that Combo).... So I feel a bit safer bashing my progenitors/ancestry... Mad props to Chuck for Going thru Airborne training, and not being the typical Royal who adopts the military for the snazzy clothes. Although I don't understand why he soared up to Flag Officer ranks so fast. Was it due to his status as a Prince, or did he truly earn it, as a commoner would have to. A Flag Officer in 3 services...Overkill by the MoD? But I have to ask WTF was Chuck thinking when he dropped Diana (hottie) for Camilla (who could scare a bulldog off a meat truck)??? nacmacfeegle 0 #28 November 10, 2004 Gawd only knows my Canadian friend (I'm Scottish). But you're right on the Camilla thing. We have a phrase here, 'Face like a bulldog chewing a bumble bee' I think it fits, and feel free to use it. It wasn't only Chuckie that served mind you, the Jelly Bean herself put some time in during the war, and her second son saw active duty as a chopper jockey in the Falklands. Phil the Greek also has time, but as you suggest I reckon they were all treated as specials.-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. He'd probably kick my ass severely, despite being 40+ years older than I... Granted, but it's rare in the US DoD for someone to lose a billion dollar weapon and still have any career prospects...
