Darius11 12 #1 November 5, 2004 I have a Friend that I have known for the last few months we hang out once in a while. He is a smart guy, educated, from a rich family, and is a solid Bush supporter. We have discussed at lengths why I don’t like Bush and specially the War in Iraq. He is also in the Army reserves. He found out he might be getting deployed to Iraq. So I see him very briefly last night and he was telling me how he is doing every thing he can do get out of going to Iraq. Now I would have no problem with someone trying to get out of a War they didn’t believe in, but considering a week ago he was telling me how it is a just war and he Voted for bush again I am just disgusted. How dare you support a war that your willing to have other people die for. Unfortunately that seems to be the case with a lot of people. It is ok if it’s not MY family, Yes to War as long as it’s not MY KID. I don’t know I always thought you should want for others what you want for your self. That is obviously not the case here. Just felt like sharing and am I wrong for being so pissed.I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
wmw999 2,586 #2 November 5, 2004 I can understand why this pisses you off. It does seem to be very hypocritical. But don't let it own too much of your brain -- he's just not worth it! crozby 0 #3 November 5, 2004 Sometimes people think they know how they would react in a situation, only to descover they react totally different when the situation actually arises. It just means they don't know themselves as well as they think they do. Is that so unforgivable?

I've done things I didn't really want to do, because I realized if I didn't go through with it, I would be a hypocrite. In the long run, I am very glad I went through with it. He's backed the war, he should go there and fight. This ad space for sale.
IanHarrop 42 #6 November 5, 2004 I have to agree with you. He signed up, he took the training, he took the money and now when they tell him they want him to do the job they trained him for and paid him for, he doesn't want to go. Darius11 12 #7 November 5, 2004 Is that so unforgivable? Quote No it is not about it being unforgivable or not. Who am I to judge. I just have an opinion (and opinion are like assholes every one has one) I just hated when people fight for something so hard and support it so diligently, but when it becomes there ass on the line they run. What we say matters. Our votes matter. So if we are supporting a war that people are getting killed in shouldn’t we also be willing to risk our life? I just hate it when people support something that they have no clue on, or that they support it as long as it is not their ass.I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
 PhillyKev 0 #8 November 5, 2004 QuoteI have to agree with you.
