cloudseeker2001 0 #1 November 3, 2004 Considering his contract has just been extended, when do you think GWB and CO. will wage war against the two remaining "Axis of Evil" governments? I say within 2-3 months the White House will start cooking it up a little. SpeedRacer 1 #2 November 3, 2004 we kinda have our hands full right now, with most of our troops in Iraq. If Bush & co. want to get anything done internationally, maybe they will have to try something wussy like diplomacy or some other candy-ass shit. dubbayab 0 #3 November 3, 2004 yep, maybe the insergence crossing the border in Iraq will give the US the reason to go into Iran. I'm guessing it will be Iran first. N. Koriea I think were gonna save for China first, then maybe if they do nothing we may go there second.

jdhill 0 #5 November 3, 2004 I suspect we will start putting preasure on Syria to close off the boarder with Iraq and stop supporting Hezbullah... Then, sometime next year, I suspect we will go after Hezbullah as an organization militarily, which may be inside Syria... I think we will approach Iran more slowly, and NK more slowly than that, most likely through diplomatic means. jdhill 0 #6 November 3, 2004 Quoteright now I'm far more concerned about the Supreme Court He still needs 5 Dem/Inds and unanimous Republican support to get anyone confirmed (need 60)... it is not a blank check... plus and of the more liberal justices who were considering retirement may now put it off for 4 years... Nightingale 0 #7 November 3, 2004 me too... but a GWB who has nothing to lose, as re-election is not a possibility in 2008. I wonder who he's going to blow up next. I figure he's now going to start claiming Iran is harboring terrorists.
MC208B 0 #8 November 4, 2004 why? are you concerned that the justices Bush will nominate will actually interept the constitution instead of upholding other judges that invent laws against the will of the people?

" I couldn't agree with you more Josh, I don't think it would be good tactically, or dare I say it politically, to open a new front without stability in Iraq. I agree that the borders need to be secure, and also the Fallujah situation is likely to be influential. The assault on Fallujah is likely to get ugly, both in terms of collateral damage and casualties to the coalition. I fear that the insurgents in this area will fight to the last, and thats going to be expensive. He got reelected so now he can concentrate on the economy and bringing our troops back home and giving the iraq's a chance to get their own house in order! GW nows you chance to shine go for it! TheAnvil 0 #12 November 4, 2004 I disagree. I think North Korea and Iran are two entirely different foreign policy situations and that each must be dealt with uniquely. A military conflict with North Korea will not occur unless the NK's initiate it. I think GWB's last four years will see more domestic upheavals than in the foreign policy arena. Specifically, I expect him to push for partial privatization of SS and seriously consider either a fair or flat tax. With regards to the SCOTUS, I expect two to three nominations to occur. They might occur after the '06 elections to give the GOP a chance to gain a super-majority in the Senate, but not likely. lowie 0 #13 November 4, 2004 It would be good if Bush concentrated on internal affairs for a while. He and his administration appear to be pretty unpopular in the Western world let alone every where else so I'd say getting UN support to invade another country is very unlikely to happen. Bear in mind that Koffi Anan considers the invasion of Iraq to be illegal. Had this invasion been undertaken by someone other than the USA and allies, UN sanctions may have been called for. pajarito 0 #14 November 4, 2004 QuoteI figure he's now going to start claiming Iran is harboring terrorists. Iran is a supporter of terrorism. Also, much of what we're trying to accomplish in Afghanistan is being subverted by the Iranians. They have a big stake in us failing in that region. They would love to see Afghanistan fail in their new democracy.

A military conflict with North Korea will not occur unless the NK's initiate it. Agreed. N. Korea isn't going around killing Americans. They may casue trouble in S. Korea from time to time by poking around the border, but they are for the most part a hungry and tired nation that IMHO knows they need help, but seem to proud to ask for it. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. We have managed to be in S. Korea for a longtime and not have the war between North and South Korea fliar up again. DOn't see why GWB would all of a sudden want us to go in there. THen again I haven't watched much TV in the last few months. MAybe the media has came up with a reason for us to kill Koreans.Dom
TheAnvil 0 #18 November 4, 2004 Yeah Dom, you nailed it. The only reason a North Korean invasion ever comes up in conversation is because liberals haven't figured out that foreign policy isn't conducted with a cookie cutter. When they bring it up they're trying to scare folks about the prospect of another war. Nobody is going to suggest invading NK. Hopefully such nonsense will cease now that the election is over. PhillyKev 0 #19 November 4, 2004 I can't believe I have to repeat this again. But Iraq wasn't going around killing Americans either. Bush has declared N. Korea to be one of the three in the axis of evil. Are you doubting this assessment?

dgskydive 0 #23 November 4, 2004 Quote I can't believe I have to repeat this again. But Iraq wasn't going around killing Americans either. I saw Americans killed by Iraqi's. I picked up dead American bodies and put them in body bags in some cases just pieces of them. They may not have been on the radar at this moment. But they lost a war over 10 years ago and did there best to try and get out of everything they signed at the end of the war. Sadam was (is) an animal. He killed his own family members if they disagreed with him. He let his two sons rape murder and generally run amuck and do as they please. If you think he didn't have his hand in things anti American and wasn't supporting terrorism then I don't know what to say. I disagree with the reasons that we were given for going into Iraqi. I do agree with the fact that the world will be a better place whent his is all done. In part do to the removal of Saddam from power. The only bad thing about taking him out is that it has opened the door for the people that where afraid of him over there. In that sense we have opened a bigger can of worms, but one that needed to be opened eventually anyway.Dom
