Muenkel 0 #1 November 3, 2004 It's now just after 4:00 EST. GWB clearly has won the popular vote (big whining point for the dems in 2000). He has clearly won the Electoral Vote also. NM will go to Bush as will Nevada. Iowa is extremely close to going to GWB. The GOP increased their lead in both the house and senate. Daschle is out. America has clearly spoken. Kerry is being a complete pussy right now. Even if he was to take all the provisional votes in Ohio, he still cannot win. Kerry has now stooped lower than Gore could ever do. IMO, this is a complete fuck you on the American people. GWB has won re-election. Everyone should just get used to it. He has made history tonight. Now Hillary has a chance in '08. _________________________________________ Chris
juanesky 0 #2 November 3, 2004 Well Chris I am glad I'm not the only one in NE that is up and watching...It has been very interesting. Maybe we should have a beer sometime soon. kelpdiver 2 #3 November 3, 2004 Wisconsin appears likely to go to Kerry, so Ohio is enough for him to get to 272. He'd be foolish to back out without knowing the number of uncounted in Ohio. Probably 10 to 1 against, but having spent the past 18 months on this, it's silly to quit now. Hillary, otoh, doesn't even have his odds in '08. The DNC won't waste an open election on a throwaway candidate like her.

kelpdiver 2 #5 November 3, 2004 Quote*Ahem* 274 Kerry's 242 + Wisconsin (10) + Ohio (20) = 272. So long as he gets Wisconsin, Ohio is the difference maker.
Muenkel 0 #6 November 3, 2004 Both Senators from Ohio are now urging Kerry to concede. The claim that there is 250,000 provisional ballots is false. With 100% of the precincts reporting GWB has a 140,000 vote lead. This is not Florida in 2000 folks. Juanesky, I can't drink due to the medication I am on, but I would be glad to meet up with you and watch you enjoy your beer. _________________________________________ Chris
juanesky 0 #7 November 3, 2004 No problem pal. You work in the Marriot right? By the wharf? Maybe go to the oyster house. It has been a great ordeal, that has finally concluded. Thank god (or whomever you'd like)"According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
Kennedy 0 #8 November 3, 2004 I'll say it here so it's in both threads: The final tally will either be Bush 286 Kerry 252 or Bush 279 Kerry 259 (the difference being Iowa's 7 Elec Votes)witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
TheAnvil 0 #9 November 3, 2004 Don't think that Hitlery has a chance in '08, but it does seem that the GOP has won. Excellent. The onus is now on the Republicans to really kick some ass over the next four years. One thing they MUST do is stop being such wussies in the Senate. Play hardball, the way the lefties do. With 2-3 SCOTUS appointments likely over the next few years, they'll have to or we'll get 'Souter'ed' again. GWB needs to push for partial privatization of SS, continue to work HC, keep the pressure on the GWOT, and seriously consider the flat tax or fair tax initiative. The Dems gave it their best (which is a bit disgusting when you think about it). They ran a campaign completely based on hatred of the incumbent. Dem 527's were outspending conservative ones by a 23:1 margin at one point. The NYT and CBS were leading the vanguard of the Dem assault with the LA Times close behind. And they still came up short. It must be depressing to be a leftie and see the swath of red splayed across the map. I mean just look at the blue - NE, a couple of great lakes states, HI, and the left coast. Congrats GWB! PhreeZone 20 #10 November 3, 2004 Still think that they are low life scum of the Earth? That alright at the 175000+ provisional ballots don't count with only a 130000 difference right? jdhill 0 #11 November 3, 2004 QuoteThat alright at the 175000+ provisional ballots don't count with only a 130000 difference right? JK would need more than 90% of the PB's to be valid, and then take more than 90% of those ballots... not likely... The PB will still be evaluated, and legit ones still counted, because they have to be... it just is not likely to change anything. PhreeZone 20 #12 November 3, 2004 Last go round about 90% of the Ohio ballots were valid. Granted the taking of about 92% is so unlikely that its not going to happen, but to call the democratic party names and say they stooped the lowest that can be imagined at 4am with polls still open until 12:00 last night in Columbus and all the outstanding ballots still uncounted is totally uncalled for.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
