Bush Wins 2004 Election!!!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Yeah - it looks like a Bush win. He is too far ahead in enough states to get the 270.

If I was a producer at a news network I'd keep things going as long as possible - ie, keep people waiting. That would mean people watched for longer and ratings were better. Why announce Bush has won and have everyone go to bed?

You're not missing anything, but you're not seeing the whole picture.

Yes, there are still a great many votes to be counted.

But that is only important in a few states (all the others are beyond being changed).

The most influential state is Ohio. It has been called for President Bush by several news stations (MSNBC, FOXNews, et al).

There are many votes to be counted in Ohio, more than Bush's margin of victory. However, for Kerry to take the state, he would need to miraculously take the uncounted votes by 5 or 6 to 1. He would need to win virtually 100% of the uncounted votes, and that's not going to happen.

Hence, Bush wins Ohio.

With Bush winning Ohio, and Bush winning Nevada (as ahs been called by CNN and a few others), he is over the 270 required to win.

THe problem is that of the stations that have called Ohio for Bush, none of them have called Nevada. Of the stations that have called Bush, not have called Ohio. He has won the states, but no station has called both for him yet.

It's over, and he's won, but it will be a painful couple of days until the majority of people accept that as true.
(as seen in the last election, some people will never accept it)

My prediction is that the final tally will be either

Bush 286
Kerry 252

or

Bush 279
Kerry 259
(not sure on Iowa, but it's leaning Bush still)

I never thought I'd say this, but I wish the Democrats would take an eleciton tip from Nixon and not challenge something that is beyond their winning. Somehow, I doubt Kerry/Edwards will even be able to live up to the low standard of Tricky Dick.

5:45 am EST

CNN shows Republicans announcing victory "with at least 286 electoral votes."

President Bush wins popular vote by around 3.5 million votes

President Bush won the majority of the popular vote.
(no, Clinton did not do that- no democrat has for a number of decades)

I laughed my ass off watching the results last night. As the results got close, then turned towards sour for kerry a "special report" came in that the DEM. lawyers started fileing lawsuits over the "long waits" at the voting places. Like a fox wating in the woods to jump on a wounded rabbit in the path, only to find out it was only his shaddow.

Well I think this election will certainly lay the 2000 demons to rest.

I'm only an observer, and a foreign on at that, but it seems statistically unlikely that Kerry will get Ohio, and both IA and NM look closer to Bush anyway.

CNN show Bush 254 - Kerry 252 but I think it's all over bar the shouting.

Exactly what could/would Kerry sue for?

A handful of things, primarily the democrates can sue that certain voting precincts did not have valid votes, due to outside factors or voting irregularity, thus invalidating those precincts. Of course it would be the precincts that were predominantly republican, which would help Kerry out in the state's total in his favor.

All in all it comes down to the democrates taking a piss on the American people and trying to make it where republican votes don't count, only the "right" vote, for Kerry, counts. I trust the American people will see this (if the media actually shows the democrates truthfully for once) and realize what the party is actually trying to do to the American people.

Interesting statements, from people who think that rural votes should count more than urban ones.

Dave, we're all Americans. I disagree implacably with the "my way or the highway" approach that many conservatives seem to be saying is the way of the future, but I'm still an American, and my voice, however marginalized, should be heard.

I should not have to ask permission to speak any more than conservatives should have to ask permission to speak when there is a liberal majority. The gerrymandering of the Texas districts is disgusting; the fact that it worked does not make it right.

Y'all, please remember that just because you disagree with it doesn't make it whining, and that might does not, in fact, make right.

Ah, be fair Dave, I'm led to believe the right had a few lawyers waiting in the wings, in case shenanigans were suspected.

Either way, it looks like Dubbya has one, fair play or otherwise, I hope his first action will be to assist certain Texas breweries to make their fine products available to an international market.

I'm assuming the post was edited. As it currently stands, Rhino is being warned for calling Tuna a singing fat lady.

That's just funny.

I think what Dave is saying is that: If and when the Kerry Camp sues, it will not sue in the counties or districts which are heavily favored in Kerry's direction. They will not look at the Voting practices of the entire state, but instead only in the counties or districts which they believe they can scrutinize through some loophole or some Liberal Judge.

If you want to Sue in OH, great...what ever. But it has to be across the board.

Kerry doesn't have a chance, however, of his suits working. The popular vote is not even close.... In 2000 it was a much different story.

Thank you, you read what I wrote correctly.

I really do not know where Wendy's post came from, it really came out of the woods for me, total surprise and I'm still trying to figure out how she got what she apparently got from my post.

The only people reporting Bush has 269 is Foxnews... Go figure...

Check MSNBC, they've been calling it 269 for Bush since 12:00AM Central time.....It's all over but the drawn out news coverage. They're only refusing to call it because people will stop watching the news. Bush has a 3.5 million popular vote lead. If M Moore (aka Fat Bastard) is right that most of America is liberal then a large number of liberals must be too lazy to vote.

So much for a higher turnout favors Dems. I can't wait to hear liberal Hollywood's wailing and crying. Maybe they really will leave the country this time.

Oh yeah, Daschle is out too. Nice day for the Republicans.

Yours was simply the last post in the thread -- hence the "people" rather than the "you." But I'll admit that I did post in haste; usually when I'm just pontificating in general, I edit out the "[name]" line; I just forgot to here.:$

That happens a lot in SC, happens to everyone. No biggie, it was just a bit confusing.:P

I'm confused. You started another "2004 Presidential Election Thread" to consolidate posts concerning the election. You then started this new thread concerning the same thing. What up?

What, you expected logic?

For the best results, be sure to light the tires using diesel fuel, it'll help get more of an even burn.

I guess I've reached the limit of serious politics posts for a while, I tossed a handful out there today and I just can't take being serious about politics in SC anymore for a while.:P

I should do the same as well. I have four years to point out all the screw ups! ;) But there is just something about ignorance that pulls me back to post again!
