quade 4 #5 November 1, 2004 Quote Sen Kerry has hire over 10,000 lawyers to dispute voting practices in the 50 states..... This isn't exactly true. What -both- sides have done is enlisted a lot of people, some of which are undoubtedly actual lawyers, to act as election monitors. In most states, at -every- polling place, parties are allowed to have a representative present to monitor the process. The Republican's are doing this also. The Democrats just aren't telling the same lies about it that some big fat idiot radio talk show hosts are.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Both parties would have VOTER challenges, not VOTE challenges at the polling place. I don't know what is worse, the possibility of having dead people (or whoever) place vote or the possibility of some party shmuck successfully denying someone their right to vote. Either way, there's a serious problem that needs to be addressed and it shouldn't be attributed to one side or the other.-- drop zone (drop'zone) n. That 10,000 lawyer statement cracks me up. Not once has anyone shown proof of it - just some conspiracy theory republicans that are setting up a campaign of fear for people that are on the fence. First off - even if you retained first year lawyers, the cost to pay them off would be extreme...however, I don't think you would take rookies for something this important. Do the math - how would this even be possible. BOTH campaigns have admitted they have people in every state watching the election and would be willing to jump all over something that goes wrong (most likely only in a swing state, or wrong color state). All 50 states huh? I doubt you will see much about election fraud in CA or IL - two states that will easily be Kerry states. You are only adding fuel to a fire that hasn't even been lit yet. Why do such a thing? How is that helping the nasty environment already surrounding this election._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... lummy 4 #11 November 1, 2004 QuoteAll 50 states huh? I doubt you will see much about election fraud in CA or IL - two states that will easily be Kerry states. There's been a few articles in the local papers here in CA about how a lot of lawyers are doing absentee voting then going to other states to help monitor voting, especially in places where there have been past issues (read Florida and Nevada) Both sides are doing it, most newspaper articles I've read state 10k for Kerry and 25k for Bush. As a side note, there was also an interesting article about a woman in Ohio who brought a suit in NJ claiming "Malone claims through her lawyers that the voter challenges violate a 1982 consent decree in New Jersey in which the Republican National Committee agreed to refrain from "ballot security activities ... where racial or ethnic composition" was a factor. The RNC admitted no wrongdoing" source I promise not to TP Davis under canopy.. Both Bush and Kerry have aramadas of lawyers reading to dispute any small thing that pops up tomorrow. I agree with you though, in a race so close one side will dispute the outcome.
