Don't trust Australians

You'd have thought he'd have let his coalition buddies into the site, but no, the UK is blocked too.

Although the whole world can get to it using this address anyway: https://georgewbush.com/

There are some truely dumb bastards involved in his campagn if the only way they can prevent DOS attacks on his website is to do this. And thay can't even do this right.

Pathetic, isn't it?

It really is happening - I can't get to the site except by the alternative https address and it's confirmed by the BBC.

I can understand why they've done it - There must be tens of thousands of geeks worldwide spending time trying to break US government websites.

It only takes a relatively small number of PCs with the appropriate software to mount a successful Denial Of Service attack.

If someone in the US attacks it I presume they can be prosecuted but nothing can legally be done to stop attackers from outside the US.

Oh, I believe you that it's happening. I just think maybe we aught to redirect the contents of this thread to their techical support help desk or something. I doubt it's to hide anything from the rest of the world. Do you think we can prosecute Canadian hackers any better than English ones?

Think it's a conspiracy Kallend? We only trust the Canadians? :S Nice source, by the way, for unbiased news. I really like their use of childish namecalling on the page.

Sometimes even FOX tells the truth. Strange, but true. Namecalling? Have you ever read Ann or listened to Rush?

It's not a glitch. They've deliberatly changed their site access policy.

It's hard to believe that any remaining voters (or any) really look at these websites, but what the hell. This is one way to try to reduce DoS attacks which would come either from out of country or from hijacked machines.

Does it actually work? I have my doubts. Proxy methods are always available.
