TheAnvil 0 #1 October 26, 2004 I met 2 nice democrats today. Not too bright, but nice nonetheless. I waddled out to do the early-vote thing here in Florida and just past the 50 foot demarcation line stood two sKerry supporters. They asked me 'who are you voting for?' so I responded and they most unsuccessfully attempted to change my mind. They were not a-holes, though they did recoil and wince at my explanations for my unabashed hatred of Affirmative Action, my stance on abortion, taxes, foreign policy, and etc. Quite nice people. They even tried to give me a free pen. Too bad they're misguided. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!! quade 4 #2 October 27, 2004 No matter what side you're on . . . how can approximately 50% of the population be misguided? Isn't it possible that they simply have a different opinion?quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
tunaplanet 0 #3 October 27, 2004 QuoteIsn't it possible that they simply have a different opinion? Republicans have a general way of thinking that most of their party follows and the democrats have their own ways of thinking that most of their party follows. Those ways of thinking are sometimes similiar. Other times they are very different. Most of the time it's the way we get there that is the difference in the two parties. So yes, they do have two seperate sets of opinions. Does that clear things up for you? Forty-two
lawrocket 3 #4 October 27, 2004 Most Dems and liberals are nice people. In fact, all of my best friends are pinkos. They are pretty interesting, good drinkers, well informed, and a couple of them are some seriously smart dudes. Despite our differences, we are united in our mutual love of beer, hockey, football and women. Isn't that enough? My wife is hotter than your wife. quade 4 #5 October 27, 2004 Quote Republicans have a general way of thinking that most of their party follows and the democrats have their own ways of thinking that most of their party follows. I can't speak for the Republican side, but . . . on the Democrat side, for the most part, part of the problem with them getting organized is they -don't- generally have a universally accepted way of thinking. I think Will Rogers said it best, "I'm not a member of any organized party. I'm a Democrat." The Republican side seems much more coordinated in this effort and from the Democrat side it's almost scary to see because it appears as if "they" are simply drones doing whatever their leaders want. I'm almost certain that's not the case, but that's the appearance. So, anyway, to categorize it as simply two sets of opinions that cover both parties is, in my opinion, somewhat short sighted.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
