Way to spin it Georgie...

"The senator wants the federal government to pick up the tab," Bush said. "And when the federal government starts to write the rules, the government decides who's covered, and who gets the coverage, and how much care you get."

Hmmm, so Bush is worried that if the gov't pays for healthcare that they'll be making rules about what's covered and what's not. Guess what George, that's a whole lot better than NOTHING being covered.

For those that believe the rep propaganda here's a clue. Kerry's gov't health plan is for people WHO DON'T HAVE ANY COVERAGE now. It doesn't replace what you may have through your employer or bought on your own.

So what is Bush trying to say? That we should cover everyone with no limits on coverage at all?

The best part is that he's trying to label it as the gov't interfering in personal health care. This coming from the guy who wants to outlaw abortion, has banned future stem cell research, opposes euthenasia and has criminalized senior citizens for shopping for cheaper prices in other countries.

How can anyone take this joke of a president seriously?

Well it is in Canada and the UK.....and dont forget,if elected,Kerry will fix everything that is wrong with the country:P

That statement is a clear indication that you have no idea what Kerry's health care plan is, because it is nothing like that in Canade. It doesn't change one single thing for anyone who already has coverage. It's merely a stop gap for those who don't and can't get it otherwise.

Perhaps I'm missing something......but I didnt compare health programs in either of those countries with the proposed Kerry plan. And you're right....... I will not concern myself with the details of something that doesnt have a snowballs chance of ever bring implemented. There is that clearer?

Your responce doesn't change the fact that you think government should collect taxes to pay for something does it?? So, government is the fix for all of the social ills in your mind right? Sorry, the same thing can be accomplished with out government being involved.......kind of like it is today:S

Yes, I believe that taxes should be used to pay for somethings.

Nope, not even close.

I heard you like apples...so according to you, no one should eat anything but apples because they are the solution to all hunger and nutritional needs.

That's the equivalent argument for you.

It is? Oh, do you mean where the poor can only get medical help when they go to an emergency room and those costs are passed on to the average consumer, and their health is far more deteriorated than it needs to be due to lack of any kind of preventative health care. Yeah, that sure takes care of things today.

Maybe you can reconcile Bush's statement with the fact that he has presided over a HUGE increase in the size of the Federal Government and a HUGE increase in government spending and a HUGE increase in government debt.

I never said I like those issues or agreed with all he does now did I. At least (IMHO) he leads this country from a principled point of view, not what is good for him politically:S By the way, the debt is not an issue. Yes it has grown but given the reasons and the situation it, the debt, is just a political ping pong ball for the left to play with........

Alan Greenspan disagrees with you. Are you a better economist than he is?

Your hero, George W. Bush, reappointed Greenspan to another term as Fed chairman. Seems like you are claiming that Bush reappointed an incompetent economist.
