Politics/ Bush

Recommended Posts

This is from one of my chess partners in Europe. Anyone care to comment?==================================== "I do believe he is not fighting terrorism as he proudly profiles himself as the strong leader (Hitler did quite the same), but he's fighting muslims for himself and Israel. By invading Irak and Afghanistan, he tries to isolate Iran and gets a eastern front (when nescecarry) for Israel. But that's expensive, and there the oil comes in. The oil that can be stolen there (stolen, 'cause the iraki's and probally the middle east pay the US with oil for their trouble and weapons), should pay Bush's warmachine. The muslims have a pretty good eye on the ball and destroy as much as possible of the pipelines, the oilplatforms etc. This tremendous misjudgement of the middle east situation should cost him at least the next 4 years and a long time in jail.
And the oil is gonna cost you your american way of living. Which is good, if you can see it coming and when there's an alternative. Especially on energy issues. Here in europe for example, we pay more for 1 liter of benzin than you for a gallon! And still most of the americans prefer cars that guzzle down 1 liter on every three miles. The people in your country waste so much of everything the world has to offer, that at least half of the nation should stand on trial for plundering and ignorance.
Hey, of course I'm generalising. There are a bunch of very good people in the US. My story says a bit about how europe and a lot of other nations look at the US, and it is meant to be as a wake-up call, stand still and listen for one time in your life, instead of chasing only your own interests.
Enough of these shitty politics, we have a game to play, which is much more fun."

It's just a point of view. One shared by many living outside the US, and filled with generalisations.

I'm just afraid of what Bush will do in his second term. A terrorist with one dirty bomb is scary, but someone who has got the world at war, old allies at each other's throats and has more than doubled the oil price as a result of it - with almost limitless power - is a lot scarier for those of us on the outside.

i think what you both have said is fair and exactly how i and everone on the outside of the u.s. i have ever talked to feels...also many americans i have met feel exactly the smae way but some also think yeah thats right but thats just the way it is. This is the attitude that is making the U.S citizens look like they have no say in the way they live. Everyone in the us needs to make a change to make a difference though but this is not easy to get everyone to change. We can keep telling the americans this sort of thing but they will never see it this way because they live in america, this is their life, like anyone from any country...you are proud of who you are and where you come from and no outsider can tell you different. We all have problems in all of our countries but the problems the U.S. have affect the world. This will never change, the U.S. is a growing force and is now starting to say to the rest of the world..well if you are not going to back us we will go alone, try and stop us. None of our governments can stop them but you watch, last time it took one group of people to make them see that they are hated in parts of the world. bush keeps this up and whats the bet the next time will be 10 times worse. The U.S. use to impress us all with their army and capabilities, not any more though, everyone is starting to look at the U.S. as the biggest threat in the world, not the biggest friend. If you did a poll in this world day and age...who is the most evil worst person in the world i reackon over 70% of the world will say bush.
I am and never have been scared of saddam or bin laden or north korea but i know that i and my children(future) will be and rightly so scared of the United States of America.
