christelsabine 1 #64 October 19, 2004 What? I hate children? The only possible reply: BS. I love them, at very first my own son. But no importance on that statement. It's not counting. Bush: In case of any sudden attack from outside, atomic bombs, ABC weapons, whatever you like (and you surely are more experienced than me), the Big Chief is sitting there, paralysed, screwing holes into the air. To wait for what? For daddy to receive good advices from him? Come on. The glorious president is paralysed. Who is supposed to do his job in that moment? (Kerry was frozen? Never heard. ) OK. Kerry was frozen. He was not the president in these days. He will be the next, probably. Perhaps? Christel dudeist skydiver # 3105

rehmwa 2 #68 October 19, 2004 I don't understand that last one. My shoe is closed? My shoe? And any statement calling someone closed minded is just self serving tripe. However, if you are trying to be funny and it's a language cross, that's great. Nice change of pace. It's really needed here. I thought non-sequitors would be a nice distraction, but even there, you continue to just stay on your tunnel vision and turn it political. (This isn't just you Christel, it's across the board). Afraid Speaker's Corner is getting just too concentrated in it's nasty and extreme polarization lately (both in it's nationalism from various countries and the US political issues). It was fun when it was friendly jabs and reasoned discussion, but it's not like that at all right now. You all are just way too angry for your own good. Well, if Bush wasn't around when a bill got to his desk and it passed into law/was vetoed cause he was out campaigning, you would have a comparitive argument. The legislators are supposed to be in there representing their constituents. I understand that some votes are lost or won before they are cast (like my vote in this presidential election), but a voting record is pretty much why the Senators and Congressmen are in there. The President (and a Governor) are pretty much there to pass or veto the work (the legislation of the legislators). Christelsabine? Your political progress, all your movements, are observed. Preoccupation is not the right word. Forget it. Just to talk for myself: I am not blind. quade 4 #75 October 19, 2004 Quote Well, if Bush wasn't around when a bill got to his desk and it passed into law/was vetoed cause he was out campaigning, you would have a comparitive argument. Really? Wow, 'cause I coulda swore somebody's job had been previously stated as; Quote "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." Further, I coulda swore that the Constitution of the United States kinda started with; Quote We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. So, I'm not really seeing a whole lot about the number one priority being to veto bills, which is kinda good I guess because so far, GWB hasn't vetoed a single bill sent to him by the Republicans controlling the House and Senate. Hmmm, also, somewhere along the line, didn't GWB say his number one priority was to fight terrorism and make America safer? But I guess you're right, there's no sense in complaining that both of these two guys have been campaigning a bit too much. Just complaining about Kerry seems to satisfy about half the people which is all that's really require to get re-elected. Sorry JP, your argument sucks. edited to add . . . Sorry for the bitch slap there. You're still my buddy.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
