JohnRich 4 #2 October 12, 2004 I didn't bother to follow the link, because I felt like I was on a wild goose chase, due to: 1) No hint of the subject matter in the thread title. 2) No hint of the subject matter in the seed message. That's as far as I'm willing to go unless the original messenger is willing to provide some hint of what the post is about.
JohnnyD 0 #3 October 12, 2004 Its about how the Republican party platform has changed over the last 50 yrs. in general and specifically in more recent years. Its a good read. Well thought out and articulated and not too long.
billvon 3,120 #4 October 12, 2004 First paragraph is: The Presidential election to be held this coming Nov. 2 will be one of extraordinary importance to the future of our nation. The outcome will determine whether this country will continue on the same path it has followed for the last 3½ years or whether it will return to a set of core domestic and foreign policy values that have been at the heart of what has made this country great. wmw999 2,589 #6 October 12, 2004 It's information. It's an opinion piece, clearly stated as such, which says that someone with a longstanding Republican allegiance is switching his vote, and why. I listen when people give their reasons and they're direct; I'm sick of hearing the swift boat vets because I've heard what they said, but I also listened to what the men who served with Kerry said, and chose which to believe. If you only listen to what already agrees with you, it is easier to form a decision, but it's much harder to call it informed. Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. JohnnyD 0 #7 October 12, 2004 QuoteBlah....blah.....blah.....blah,blah! More anti-Bush propaganda???? That's the thing it is not. Unlike most of the mindless "Bush/Kerry is an idiot" garbage we have to wade through to get to something worth while, this is a well thought out and written article on the party, not the candidate. Having been a Republican since I've been old enough to vote, I really feel that the party is letting me down and I'm now on the fence for exactly the reasons listed in the article.
