akarunway 1 #1 October 6, 2004 I'm so fucking pissed I can't see straight. OK. Last time I went to vote i had moved out of my district. So I walked a mile to the voting place and was told I could vote w/ an OK from the supervisor of elections office, a phone call away. They tried for two hrs. BUSY BUSY BUSY. They finally said I could keep calling. End of day nears. Hours by now. I finally call the operator and she checks and tells me the FUCKING PHONE TO THE SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS OFFICE IS OFF THE HOOK. So I don't vote for the last three elections. I thought about suing the state of Fla. but you know how that would go. So. Now I am in Ca, temp. working so I go thru all the procedures to get an absentee ballot to vote and GUESS WHAT? They lost all the fucking paperwork. Democracy my ass. RANT OVERI hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all. Nightingale 0 #3 October 6, 2004 try re-registering with your california address...?
wmw999 2,589 #4 October 6, 2004 Sounds like your registration expired because of not voting. Yes, they should have been more accessible and it sucks that the supervisor's phone was off the hook, but, well, if you don't vote for awhile I think you have to re-register (at least in Texas). I've never gone without voting long enough to find out for sure... How to fix? Register somewhere. Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
