tunaplanet 0 #7 September 15, 2004 QuoteNo more so than the Swift Boat guys Actually the Swft Boat Ads have been a tremendous success. Kerry's numbers have been on a steady decrease ever since. SB ads were a success at exposing Kerry for who he is. THe Texans for Truth Ads will not have the same affect. People will simply look at these as lies designed to counter the SB's. storm1977 0 #8 September 15, 2004 Quote No more so than the Swift Boat guys will, or the Texans for Truth will. Few people notice such things. I beg to differ. I think these things do sway the election in some way. The way I see it, Bill you know how you will vote and I know how I will vote. It is the ones who don't know whate they are doing yet. These fence sitters are typically moderate, and typically they get sick of the mud slinging. I really do believe mud slinging on both sides tends to help the opposition. People just get tired of hearing it. THey want to hear about policy not history. And, in this election, it will be the fence sitters who determine the outcome of this election. Think about it, if you are on the fence in your decision for president, what do you want to hear to help you decide? Dirt dug up from the past? or A canidates position on important topics? If a canidate is spending his/her time on throwing mud, they can't be spending as much time on the real topics at hand. This goes for both parties. PhillyKev 0 #9 September 15, 2004 What you're saying is true. However when both parties are slinging the stank ass mud that's flying around this year I think the greater affect on undecideds is that they just stay home.

billvon 3,120 #11 September 15, 2004 >SB ads were a success at exposing Kerry for who he is. Right. Any group that says anything bad about Kerry is "exposing him for who he is," any group that says anything bad about Bush is a bunch of whiny liars. The reality is that the SBVFT are a group of paid political advertisers who were given money to change their stories. It was certainly money well spent by the GOP. billvon 3,120 #17 September 16, 2004 >When you prove that, let the attorney general know. It's public knowledge. They were paid very well by GOP contributors. They did change their stories; at least two SBVFT members gave glowing testimonials to Kerry before they were paid to change their stories. If you didn't know any of this - go to Yahoo news and do a little searching. You should have the info within seconds. They can investigate whatever they want. But I'd much rather have the attorney general determine who is leaking names of our CIA operatives to the press. That shit will get american agents killed. The SBVFT and the Texans for Truth are both just election-year groups doing the usual posturing.
