Where to Buy Previously Banned Weapons

Recommended Posts

Now that the AW ban is about to lift, I was thinking about stocking up an armoury with some good weapons, clips, and ammo.

Anyone have any advice on a good place to shop for previously banned weapons and big-ass banana clips and stuff like that?

I'm thinking it's going to be real hard to find anything since it hasn't been manufactured for so long, but maybe someone stockpiled or prepared?

Any tips? :)

I get catalogs of the stuff every month. The guns have always been around. The accessories have always been around. You just haven't been able to legally put the accessories on the guns. Now you can. Check out www.cheaperthandirt.com for cheap ammo, high-cap magazines, etc. If you want higher quality merchandise, you can find it, but it'll cost you more. It just depends on what you want.

You mean you didn't rathole some stuff before the last ban? Tsk..tsk... ;) :P

Got mine! B|

hehe, i would have, but i was too young then. :|

hate to say this, but normally i wouldn't have worried about getting anything, but with the threat of another ban i better get something while it's still possible! (legally)

sort of like run on napster before it was shut down. :D

Sure it has. Plenty of other places in the world where they were selling this stuff, plus selling it with "law enforcement use only" stamped on it.

Give it a couple months. All of the manufacturing facilities are still in place, they just need to ramp up production to meet the new demand.

Well, what I want (and what I had an actualy dream about going out to buy, last night) is several full capacity magazines for the Glock 22 (.40 cal.) for use in my G27 and my eventual G22. Anyone know of a supplier that has them in stock and for a down-to-earth post-ban price?

I don't know jack about guns, but if I wanted to pick up a nice setup, what would you guys recommend?

The first thing I'll say is: Know the laws of your home state and GET TRAINING.

Now, with that out of the way:

What do you want to do? Target shooting, hunting, self defense? Do you live in the city or out in the country? Are you looking for a rifle? shotgun? pistol?

Your answers are going to drive what the responses are...

You're in California, so the AWB is irrelevent to us.

What side of the state do you live in? In the Bay Area there are few gun stores left - best starting point is Traders in San Leandro. For training, Targetmasters in Milpitas and Jackson Arms in South San Francisco are the two largest ranges.

I was thinking of a rifle but my workmate and kelpdiver just informed me that the AWB is irrelevant. *sigh*. Do you ever go to the gunrage next to skydance?

Wow, I am certain I am not alone in finding not one iota of anything funny in even joking about that. :|

Haven't yet. Lately I've been riding the motorcycle out there. I'm not even sure yet if it's a public range or not. I'm just amused by it as the major OUT for the LZ.

You can still get rifles, just not AR-15s, or anything that looks like it came off a movie set.
