Exactly. Why I am assuming that she did wrong? Simple, she was a protestor inside a place she shouldn't have been. Guilt by association. If she hadn't been there - the incident wouldn't have happened.[:/] It looks to me that he is doing a good job of keeping her quiet and from disrupting the convention any further.

Wait, Turtle. Stop right there. We are both way off the mark.

I'm sure she was standing there, quietly observing the speech while being completely kind, polite and civil.

Then I bet this man walked by, targetted her for no apparant reason, snuck up behind her like the last American ninja, grabbed a fistful of locks and proceeded to drag her out like the asshole he is.

I'm sure that's a more likely story than security removing a loud mouth, disobedient liberal moron.

We should apologize immediately. Want me to draft the public apology letter?

Interesting results being drawn on political and gender lines...

If someone was acting like a dumbass at the Kerry Family Labor Day Picnic, I'd have expected his security to do the same thing and supported it. I'd think it was a totally appropriate level of force.

I have one set of rules for stupid, it does not depend on gender. Do you feel that they should baby the women a little? Would you have been ok with them roughing up a guy? Sorry, equality is one set of rules for everyone.

Dude, absolutely not. I'm just saying that you don't see many guys pulling each other's hair, and that I think there were more appropriate and effective restraint and eviction methods. Shove her, pin her arms, zip-tie her, whatever. It's the hair pulling that's pissing me off.

And I don't give a crap who she's protesting - either side, I'd have felt the same. I was just commenting on other's politicalizationation of the situation. Wait, was that a word? ;)

you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

So, objectively, and in your experience, that looks like he was effectively controlling a person who was actively resisting?

Not challenging, I honestly want to know.

Guys aren't on tv pulling each others hair for two reasons. One, long hair is mostly out of fashion. Two, QEFTSG has no violent scenes between hair dressers.

Shoving her onto a concrete floor and pinning her arms would be painful, whether she struggled or not. If she quit struggling, the hair restraint would not hurt, agreed?

If the goal is to not cause the subject needless pain, wouldn't you agree that hair restraint was the most humane?

If the discussion is about some personal psychological aversion that you have to hair-pulling, consider it noted. ;)

Note to self - "no hair-pulling, ok with zip-ties"

Since she is pancaked right next to another person (looks like another protester) I would have pulled her hair back until she was clear of everyone else and then wrapped one arm around her neck and pinned an arm behind her back and escorted her out.

That sounds simply as fllws:

I would have wrapped both of my arms by using my two hands too, around her...:S:S
errr.... to help her to get out easily.

Guys, sucking little pigs.. :$ Don not teach me to read your mind! (Not personally adressed to someone specific)

Hee hee! :$

Sigh. Each situation is different. I do agree with you though. If she doesn't struggle, and if he doesn't pull, hair restraint is effective.

OK, it's Friday. I'm outta here. It was fun y'all!! Have a great weekend!!
