storm1977 0 #1 September 8, 2004 OK, so James Carville and others on CNN are being brought into the Kerry camp as advisors. CNN is letting them stay on air. Is this not a HUGE conflict of Interest from and agency called the cable NEWS network? What if O'reilly was hired by the Bush camp and Fox let him stay on air????? Funny how I saw nothing on CNN (clinton News Network) about this. What a fucking sham.... gee I can't imagine why their ratings are going down. peregrinerose 0 #8 September 8, 2004 Do you really think that 'news' programming actually serves the purpose of informing the public? It is geared toward entertainment. They air what they have pictures and video of, not actual newsworthy events or information. They are there to keep viewers, to keep advertisers, to earn ratings, and they do whatever it takes to garner eyeballs glued to TVs. I was married to a news producer for 4 years, and I'd get royally pissed at him when he'd tell me the real stories compared to what actually aired. They only air the parts they have video of, the more sensational aspect of a story, and this is generally only one small part of it. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
TheAnvil 0 #9 September 8, 2004 Begala is the ass who was going to try and influence Electoral College electors to change their votes if I recall. I've seen him on the Communist News Network and am surprised he's literate. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!! jdhill 0 #16 September 9, 2004 If anyone actually believed they were news anchors, yes, it would be a problem... I think their on-air positions are as political talking heads, not news anchors, so I don't think its a big deal... More power to them... I think they also advised the Gore campaign JAll that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
storm1977 0 #17 September 9, 2004 I happen to disagree.... They represent CNN, who's name has the word NEWS in it. THey call themselves a News Network, and therefore this is a conflict of interest. Again, if O'reilly joined the Bush camp, would we ever hear the end of it? Answer the question please? ----------------------------------------------------- Sometimes it is more important to protect LIFE than Liberty
jdhill 0 #18 September 9, 2004 I think those guys are clowns... their mouth moves and all I hear is circus music... I think it great that they are working with Kerry... it only helps Bush... Their shows are editorial in nature, as is O'Reilly's... sure there would be a stink, but no more than there is with this... Fox would probably ask him to get a guest host, but CNN is a news network in name only, has been for a long time.
