Swept under the carpet, conservative media at it again.

Recommended Posts

The damn conservative media is at it again. While everyone was complaining that they didn't have 24x7 coverage of Zell Miller and the Bush twins, the media was busy NOT reporting on the 17% Medicaire increase that went through on Friday.

The other news item, they I find a bit more important than the dog and pony show that everyone was complaining they couldn't find on tv is that due to Bush's EPA budget cuts, there is now a record long 2 year backup in the clean up of superfund sites.

For a president who claims reducing health care costs and cleaning the environment are top priorities, he doesn't seem to be doing much to help.

Lets try not to philibuster so much and perhaps we could get that done too.
The longer there are philibusters the longer the senate and house debate the longer it takes to do anything.

What does a philibuster have to do with Bush's budget cutting funding for EPA cleanup of superfund sites?

What does a philibuster have to do with the Bush administration announcing a 17.4% increase in Medicaire premiums, the largest increase ever? McClellan, the administrator of Medicaire reports directly to Bush and their premium increases are by his sole discretion.

What do you expect of an administration that forbade its own DHSS people to tell the true cost of its Medicare plan to Congress?

GWB LIED to Congress about Medicare.

Is there any evidence, at any of the sites, that the work the federal governemnt is paying for at superfund sites is accomplishing anything?

Yes. Hanford still has a long road ahead of it, but it's much better today than it would have otherwise been.
