That said, foreign journos (hell even local well known journos) are always considered a security threat because of the proximity to which they can get to the people they're trying to cover. I don't know how much you know about broadcast television equipment but some of it is pretty bulky, heavy and sealed. In fact, we usually refer to the batteries as bricks. Stuff like that should bring extra scrutiny because you might have four or five of them, only one of which would need to be altered. Not to mention that the cameras themselves could contain any one of a number of things. quade 4 #7 September 5, 2004 I think that before you go too far into a conspiracy theory about the US keeping foreign journos out, you'd need more than one sample and you'd need more information on what may have triggered the responce to that sample. There has to be more explanation as to what happened. I agree with Quade with the belief of US will not forbid anyone from freedom of the press. You were to fly with them? where you actually with them when ths authorities denied them entry?. If you look suspicious, and seem to be here to work, without proper authorization, it will be most likely you will be denied entry. Also to note would be interesting to know the nationalities of those involved. If you are trying to make us aware that is something is wrong about US denying freedom of press, you will need to be a little more concise in the details that support this claim.
