Michele 1 #1 September 4, 2004 On August 18, Judicial Watch filed a request for a formal investigation into Kerry's medals and the circumstances under which they were awarded. They further ask that a meeting between Kerry and the Viet Cong in Paris in May of '70 be investigated. From Judicial Watch "Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, today filed a request with the U.S. Navy and the Defense Department for an investigation into the awards granted to Sen. John Kerry during his service with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam. Judicial Watch also requested that military authorities investigate Kerry’s anti-war activities, including his meeting with North Vietnamese and Viet Cong delegations in Paris, while a member of the Naval Reserve." You can read the complaint here There is an interesting quote attributed to Kerry's CO, Gen. Grant Hubbard, included in the complaint, which states in part: " I do not recall being advised of any medical treatment, and probably said something like 'Forget it.' He later received a Purple Heart for that scratch, and I have no information as to how or whom.” And regarding his meeting with the Viet Cong, it states the following: "According to publicly available records, Senator Kerry was released from Active Duty and transferred to the Naval Reserve (inactive) on 3 January 1970. On 1 July 1972 he was transferred to the Standby Reserve (inactive). While a commissioned officer in the inactive Naval Reserve, Senator Kerry traveled to Paris, France and met with official delegations from the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam) and the Provisional Revolutionary Government (the Viet Cong). The Vietnamese Communists eagerly met Senator Kerry and benefited directly from the obvious propaganda victory (See Exhibit 2, page 126 – 129). " (The complaint is detailed, but the exhibits were not made public). IF this complaint is true, there are serious problems with Kerry. I do not think there will be an investigation undertaken or completed by Nov. 2, but these are serious allegations against Kerry.
