Sebazz1 2 #51 August 31, 2004 I wish to keep my personal political views private and wont say if I am DEM or REP or whatever but I think it was a good speech that will sway many "on the fence" voters... <--- Nuetral face
PhreeZone 20 #52 August 31, 2004 Please... if you knew of the unreported incidents and near wrongway landings you'd laugh. My brother is ATC at a military base and about every 2-3 weeks has to warn off a commercial airliner that wants to land there. Even better is when the heavy transports report they are making a turn to final and they are lining up at the commercial airport. ATC at the base yells at them after the civi controllers rip into them for entering the wrong pattern. State of air navagation in still screwed up thanks to the human factor.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
christelsabine 1 #53 August 31, 2004 Quote Naw, hyperbole. Just finished reading the complete speech. "War, war against terror, war, our mission against terror, war...war....." "Hyperboles" on every single of total 8 pages? Líke everybody I know, who is writing those speeches. It's never made by speakers itself. This special one nevertheless, simply sounds ... somewhat special, somehow frightening, in total awful .... dudeist skydiver # 3105

The right understands and resonates with the middle better. The message is tailored to the listener. The left, via the Democratic convention, failed miserably in targeting their message at the undecided middle. Calling Giuliani's speech "awful" shows that bias. The middle ate that speech up. I thought it was artful.
Clownburner 0 #55 September 1, 2004 Everyone seems to be forgetting the most powerful man in government. If he decides Bush won't get re-elected, he probably won't. That man is Alan Greenspan. Historically, if the economy is slow, the incumbent gets fired. If the economy is gangbusters, the incumbent stays elected. if the Fed bumps short-term interest rates right before an election, that tends to slow things down right quick. The economy is already showing signs of stalling, and the jobs figures are not good - and the Fed seems dead set on bumping interest rates once more before the election. If that happens, I think it'll do more to kick Bush out of office than anything the democrats could do. peacefuljeffrey 0 #56 September 1, 2004 QuoteQuote Yes...I believe it. I know I was thinking something along those lines when it happened. Really? My first thoughts were of my friends that work in in New York City and of all the other people and how their lives completely changed that day. Then, shortly after, I thought, "Thank god there are people as brave as the ones in the Fire Dept. and Police Dept." Is this thread really going to turn into a base pissing contest about who had the more noble thought more immediately after the 9/11 attacks? Give me a break. PhreeZone 20 #57 September 1, 2004 Its interesting to note that in the key state of Ohio (the state will be the next FL if the ballots are fixed fast) I know that my moderate republican family (I'm the black sheep) was more then impressed with the Dems and were moving towards the Kerry flag as of last week. The "middle" has different values depending on where you live. Here in Ohio where the economy is recovering slower then most of the rest of the country, jobs are the key. Specifically auto, steel, rubber and manufactoring jobs. Who ever courts those workers the best is the one thats going to win the state. Farmers are the next group that is being courted here. The "middle" in Cali is anyone that is'nt a left wing liberal , middle in Utah (most republican state in the union) is anyone that is'nt a republican.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
