It's a good thing there is no optomism in you. Gheese. But question - do you not think Kerry would do the same thing?I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

I suspect if the roles were reversed (i.e. he was the incumbent who made a big deal about his war on terror) he would. Do you honestly think that GOP planners did not take into consideration how having the GOP convention close to 9/11 (both physically and in terms of time) would affect voters? This is the first GOP convention in NY in a long, long time. They're not idiots. Cold and heartless, perhaps, but not idiots.

jdhill 0 #30 August 30, 2004 Quoteisn't NYC kinda pro-Democrat anyway? I found it kinda interesting that Ed Koch (D), the former Mayor of NYC (the last Dem. Mayor the city has had), spoke at the convention this morning, in favor of Bush... quade 4 #33 August 31, 2004 I -think- there's going to be quite a bit of difference in the conventions. Not for most of us on -this- forum, but for most of America, the Democratic convention was the basic introduction of Kerry to the voters. The primaries decided who would be the candidate pretty early so Kerry did little (or no) campaigning in states with later primaries. The Republican convention is another story altogether. It doesn't have to explain -who- GWB is, so they can spend far more time recapping his accomplishments. I just got home about a half hour ago and the thing I've noticed so far is that I don't remember the Democrats making a big deal out of the traditional roll call. Which is sad because to me it's always one of the more enertaining aspects of a convention. The Republicans -are- right now as I type this doing the roll call. I like that. It at least gives the -impression- that everyone still has some sort of say in the process. Side note. I liked the Democratic stage and graphics better. The Republican graphics look like they were done in the mid-90s. Very traditional, but somewhat dated. Not that anyone there actually cares. I think the GOP -likes- a more traditional look and feel.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
