Jib 0 #1 August 27, 2004 Why does the president get blamed for Congress' failure to pass better laws? TheAnvil 0 #2 August 27, 2004 Well, didn't sKerry decide not to show BEFORE he decided not to show up, then end up not showing up because he didn't want to be seen as a flip-flopper? I mean, just because he didn't show up didn't mean he wasn't doing his job...er...uh...wait a minute... Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!! skydyvr 0 #3 August 27, 2004 QuoteOr more specifically, Kerry's failure to even show up to the meetings? I think you're being a little unfair questioning Kerry like that. After all, he made it one in four tries, well almost anyway. I mean, give the guy a break. Maybe he had limo problems or something. . . =(_8^(1)
turtlespeed 226 #4 August 27, 2004 I think he was to busy throwing away his Wendy's meal in liew of a catered lunch. Just remember - if he will do this - just for image - how petty can he really be?I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

newsstand 0 #8 August 28, 2004 Sorry but I remember how Governor GWB trashed Texas, no sympathy for the rest of the country. "Truth is tough. quade 4 #9 August 28, 2004 Quote Why does the president get blamed for Congress' failure to pass better laws? Lemme see . . . Congress majority votes Republicans Senate majority votes Republicans Supreme Court majority votes Republicans President, Republican and in theory the head of the party They say that intelligence is the ability to recognise patterns. Do you see a pattern? BTW, just in case you happened to miss that particular episode of School House Rock, the President does kinda get involved with his pen at some point. So, unless you're prepared to show us how many times GWB has vetoed piece of shit legislation and got his veto over turned by the Congress and Senate . . . uh, yeah, he approved the shitty legislation and it IS his fault.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
Jib 0 #10 August 28, 2004 As fond as I am reminiscing about Conjunction Junction or getting adverbs here, I'm curious why Kerry hasn't made his voting record more public than his "heroism." Oh, he never attended and when he did was farther left than Ted in voting. How can he make it "more public" than it already is, as part of the public record. Why doesn't GWB unseal his arrest records from 30 years ago? After all, there is a lot of doubt about his drug use: www.progress.org/archive/drc12.htm www.bobharris.com/scoop/bushcocaine.htm Why did Bush seal his records as Governor of TX? Why did Bush seal his father's presidential records on his first day in office?... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. Oh, I forget sometimes. It's all about the bait and switch. You asked about "Why does the president get blamed..." and then wanted to switch topics just to bash Kerry. billvon 3,111 #13 August 28, 2004 >Why does the president get blamed for Congress' failure to pass better laws? Cause he takes credit when they do. Economy, same thing. The president has virtually nothing to do with the economy. But if he's going to take credit for the recovery (which he has) it's justified to hold him accountable for the bad as well as the good. PhillyKev 0 #14 August 30, 2004 Quote The president has virtually nothing to do with the economy. Other than drafting the national budget, setting monetary policy, entering into trade agreements, and requesting emergency funding for war efforts every few months. I'd say he has quite a bit to do with it.
