How many times have I seen you attempt to dismiss a criticism as "irrelevant" just because the criticizee is not one of the candidates??

-

Very few. Care to do a search and count them?

Not likely.
I know I've seen it plenty. And if they weren't all by you, they were by clones of your opinions and fallacious lines of argument. It's been enough that I've surely taken notice of it.

Now now John... If you're gonna publish such pics PLEASE make sure they're genuine one's of Kerry... Like the attached as shot by a North Vietnamese stick-waver with a Nikon with 2000mm Nikkor F11 Mirror lense.

He claime that he DID try to get a bow shot, but Kerry saw him....;)

Mike.

Edited to add: Kerry is the one lying down on the foredeck making sure the bow anchor is secure... What do you mean you can't see him!?

PS: Why aren't we all voting Badnarik?

Ah, come on John, have a sense of humor.

I mean, there's nothing like a photo of a clown on a boat to make you laugh isn't there?

Well, ok, maybe this isn't quite as funny because the clown didn't think he was being funny at the time.

If George W. Bush had 3 purple Hearts and a Silver and Bronze Star I would think it in very bad taste if anyone attacked his military service too.

So, if you served and got medals, nobody can call into question the validity of the claimed heroism?

Kerry should easily be able to defend his service. It is another opportunity for him to brag about his heroism.

Instead, just knowing where his opponents get their funding is supposed to be enough. I think not.

So you admit you lied?

PJ this is where you fall apart. You won't go find out where the opponents "lied", you leave it as an "exercise to the students." During my college career that usually meant something the teacher could not explain.

Uh, NO, I didn't lie. I already said that if it wasn't you, it was someone writing opinions similar to yours, so it was easy to confuse. I am certain I have seen numerous posts in which someone on the left tried to derail a line of commentary just because the politician being criticized was not running for president, as if that means that criticism of that politician is of no value for anything.

I am not used to doing searches here, and I don't know where I would begin if I were trying to find "so-and-so isn't running for president, so it's irrelevant" unless I already knew word-for-word what passage I was looking for.

Absence of proof on my part is not tantamount to proof of falsehood for my allegation. Newsstand, you guys ought to know that.

In logic, can you really assert that because I didn't offer proof that my statement is true, it is proved to be false by that very failure?

Is that true?! I hadn't heard much at all about him -- not having cared much about him to bother reading up -- but if that's true, what an asshole. And people -- like ME -- who didn't know the moron caused his own triple amputation, went having sympathy for him. You're right: what a jackass.

Well, his story is one way, and the 7 guys who were with him have a different version. His states it was dropped by someone in his crew, and he tried to pick it up not knowing the pin had been pulled. The guys with him say he was being a tough guy (he'd done it before.) Playing with a frag, pulling the pin, putting it back in, scaring the new guys.

I guess it depends on who you believe. But the real question is would these guys need to lie? The story came out years ago...shortly after it happened (my dad knew Max, and relayed the story to me about 10 years ago.)

Hi Jamie,

Did you hear the crap that came out of Max's mouth during his deliver the letter stunt?

He said (as well as I can remember) that an attack on one veteran is an attack on all. Kerry certainly did then attack all veterans in 1971 didn't he?

He also claimed that Bush was responsible (his words were much more forceful) for the SBVFT ads.

I don't care if he was a POW and the N. Vietnamese cut his limbs off, he is a despicable ass.

Kerry should be pressured to apologize and denounce what Max said on his behalf.

Hey Cliff,

I did hear it. Frankly, I think the Prez did the right thing by responding to a letter with a letter. Any President is busy, and can't be expected to cow-tow to anyone waving an envelop...even Max.

As far as his comments about an attack on one vet as being an attack on them all, I defy anyone to provide proof that GW Bush has said or written anything disparaging about Kerry's service record. I don't think they will find it.

The standard is double, Kerry will neither be pressured to apologize nor apologize (except for letting the dems down in Nov.)
