Here's Irony for ya...

>Not true at all. Having good schools, health care, and food is socialist? Making sure that children have those basic necessities, regardless of who there parents are, or how lazy their parents choose to be is not socialist.

I'm curious if that would fix the problem or not. In the military all the men of a particular unit will go to the same schools together, eat the same food together and see the same doctors together. Do they all come out with the same knowledge and ambition? Not even close in my experience. Some will do extremely well and others will lag miserably.

Well, there are more whites on wellfare in this country than there are blacks, at least that is what I have been told by the liberal smut peddelars.

It is not a race issue, it is entirely a class issue. No one cares in corporate america if you hire a minority, they do however have an aversion to hiring people who talk like they are from Chichester regardless of what color they are.( I assume you know what people from there sound like )

See, the thing is, if you make it a race issue, you will leave half the people who need help behind, where as if you make it a class issue, I suspect a lot more people would get the help that they need.

Making it about race just pisses people off and encourages an "us vs them" kind of mentality. That mentality ensures that nothing will get solved.

And how do they compare to a group of kids, during their formative years, growing up in a slum with crack dealers hanging out front of their house, eating food with little to no nutritional value, and going to a school where the teacher's primary goal is to get through the day as quickly as possible?

Again, yes, no matter what, there will be slackers. But you'll have less slackers in the group you mention, than the one I do.

That would be relevant if there were an equal number of blacks and whites in the country.

Which is why educkation is important.

I agree, and that's how it should be handled. But to ignore the fact there is disparity between the races, is to ignore part of the problem.

And I doubt it will take long for someone to comment about the "liberal class warfare" if you just went that route.

It's about money and that pisses people off, period, no matter how much they have or how much other people need or deserve help.

I don't agree that we should be a socialist state where eveyone gets the same clothes, same food, same paycheck as everyone else.

Neither do I. Who said anything about that?

The only way for your plan to work you have to be socialist. Otherwise nothing will ever be "fair".

Not true at all. Having good schools, health care, and food is socialist? Making sure that children have those basic necessities, regardless of who there parents are, or how lazy their parents choose to be is not socialist.

So how do you plan on taking out of everyone the one thing that has let us progress past all other species on the planet?

In order to make everything fair - you would have to completely do away with competition.

If you do that - thereis no drive and you no longer progress.

So, children should have to compete for clean water, good food, good educational opportunities, and good healthcare?

Those are basic necessities of life in my opinion. Most people want more than that, and that is the incentive.

It's everyone's job to improve the quality of life in our society and help insure that future generations have it better than we do. It' scalled being human.

It's is not everyone's job. Only few take that as a job, liberals tend to just bitch, complain, and express how intellectually superior they are. ie:"look I'm a PHD hence I'm right", yet you get a few willing actually carrying that burden for you at great personal sacrifice. IE: our troops.

What have you done to improve the quality of life PK?
