Sometimes the Pope gets it right....

Recommended Posts

I have to admit that is funny. But we all know that's not what the Pope was thinking.

Isn't it ironic that the non-Catholic candidate is more in line with the teachings of the Catholic Church then the (says he is)Catholic one?

This is what really gets me about Kerry. Don't claim you are a member of a particular religion and toss out all it's teachings that you don't like. Just go join another religion, there's so many to pick from.

Second rant:

Justin,

If you're not Catholic, what do you care what the Pope has to say? While I do respect the Dalai Llama, I'm not Buddhist, so I really don't care what he has to say to his followers.

Are you saying that he personally does live by and believe in the Catholic faith? Or are you confusing separating his faith from his duties as an elected representative.

Sorry, but as much as they like to do that, they can't if they wish to receive communion. This is a matter of grave sin.

Now I am directing this statement at those who consider themselves as practising Catholics only (which Kerry does). So those of you who wish to use this statement to bash Catholics, I'd appreciate it if you just refrained from it.

I'm not trying to bash Catholics. I'm just wondering if you have some insight into his personal life as it relates to his religion or if you are judging his commitment to his faith based on his political choices? Seems to me that you're the one bashing a catholic.

No, you're misunderstanding me. It is the teaching of the Catholic faith that if you aid in any way abortions, stem cell research, etc. you are not permitted to receive Holy Communion, until you have made reperation through the Sacrament of Confession. If you do, you are at risk of committing grave sin. John Kerry's stand on these issues is publicly known, so yes, if I was to see him receive Communion, then he is in grave sin.

But, let me make this clear. It is our belief that only God can stand in judgement of another soul. So it would be wrong for me to say where Kerry stands in God's eyes.

The way this affects me, is I cannot vote for him if I do not wish to be in grave sin. If he changes his platform on these certain issues, then I could vote for him.

Folks, I'm not judging anyone. I am just stating what the teachings are of my particular religion.
