quade 4 #1 August 4, 2004 If you just keep "turning the corner", aren't you just going around in circles? Seriously, this is one of the silliest catch phrases I've heard get over used in recent days. Oh well, people will probably just tell me I'm being partisan for pointing this out. Maybe I better "move on." quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

quade 4 #4 August 4, 2004 Yeah, but just one more "turn the corner" puts you right back where you started and to follow your flying analogy one step further, if he's constantly "turning the corner" isn't he just in a downward spiral? quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

quade 4 #13 August 4, 2004 Ya know, you're free to come up with anything original you'd care to write, but simply saying that Kerry is on both sides of issues and a flip-flopper is a little shopworn. Listening to some folks complain about Kerry is about as entertaining as watching the chocolate shop episode of I Love Lucy for the 100th time. Sure, it -may- have had some sort of impact on first viewing, but now it's just stupid and repetitive. Lemme ask you this, do you ever read or listen to anything he says? I can guarantee you there's plenty of stuff in there for you to make fun of if you want to.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
Zenister 0 #14 August 4, 2004 Quote but now it's just stupid and repetitive. some people exist on 'stupid and repetitive' it is their only defence when they lack facts to back up their assertions.... its really silly to hear 'Clinton this' or 'Bush that' all the time when discussing policy.. cant people focus on the issue without resorting to "yea well your guy" statements with little bearing on the actual topic...____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. quade 4 #22 August 4, 2004 Quote Strange that you rarely mentioned them. That's because I'm lazy and taking cheap shots at GWB is like shooting fish in a barrel. Seriously, he's funny. Not intentionally, it just turns out that way. Kerry, on the other hand, is a bit of a stiff and a bit long winded, so making fun of him usually would require me to copy and paste several lines of his texts just to get to a punchline. It's absolutely do-able, but it's like one of those jokes that takes a longer time to tell rather than a simple set-up and punchline. Ok, here's a freebee for all the ultra-right-wing-conservative-nut-jobs out there that really should have something new to talk about. "Reporting for duty" Really? He just got the nomination. He didn't get elected. How the hell is that "Reporting for duty"? What his speech writers probably should have had him say, in context with his service record and arrival on the boats, et al is "request permission to come aboard." This would have set up a fantastic acceptance speech (if that ever happens) where he could have said, "reporting for duty" and THAT would have been a great moment. Oh yeah and leave out the salute. That was pretty freekin' close to a Dukakis moment. There -- feel better about me now? BTW, I take it as almost proof that most of the ultra-right-wing-conservative-nut-jobs don't listen to Kerry since this doesn't seem to have been commented on much.
