One of Kerry's statements at the DNC

Recommended Posts

For the most part I heard the same crap spewed from Kerry only through a more moderate filter yesterday. However, I heard a new one yesterday which concernmed me because it struck close to home. The only difference is I can look and the whole picture and see his B.S. for what it is. But others may not. He mentioned people who were layed off and were expected to be satisfied taking jobs paying less {he said $9K less to be exact}. Funny thing is I am one of of those people, only I lost a lot more than $9k from my base salary. I don't need to get into the specifics of what led to that, although it was clearly Clinton's economic policies that caused most of the lay-offs in the first place.
But more importantly I wonder, What great plan does Kerry have to rectify this? Raise taxes so that companies like mine need to cut costs and lay off again? Hell maybe I won't be one of the ones hit this time. Not to worry Kerry will find another way to screw me. Perhaps his idiotic idea to raise minimum wage would do the trick. Lets see what would that do? Well it would cause the cost of lving to go up. Since nobody who's salary has dropped by $9K is making less than 3 times the minimum wage, I will bet my bottom dollar that their salary will not go up just because the minimum wage does. So I guess the only thing his idiotic plan does is make it harder for these people to get by, by raising their cost of living.

Why not take a look at his plan to create and strengthen jobs? If you did you'd see that not giving tax breaks to companies for shipping jobs overseas is part of it and directly relates to the issue you're talking about.

That is a relatively new position and I would agree with it if I could believe it. However, I have yet to see such an issue be placed in a position where the Senate or the House could vote on it. Once that happens we could see who really supports such a measure and who is just giving and empty campaign promise.
Hell, if we were to go by Clinton's speeches, we might have believed he was dead serious about being on the right of many issues. But after eight years of veto after veto, (partial birth abortions, Marriage penalty tax, inheritance tax) we know that center Bill was just for speeches. Looking at Kerry's voting record in the Senate, we can see he is currently the most liberal of the bunch.

The POTUS has authority to make or break trade agreements without congress. That's why you don't see it there. What you see is Bush striking deals with every third world nation that exploits its labor and undercuts US prices so that CEO's can give themselves pay raises without cutting the company profits.

First lets not confuse jobs with careers. Last I saw McDonalds and UPS were still hiring. The overwelming majority of jobs going to third world countries has always been unskilled labor. The painful twist in that was when somebody put 2 and 2 together and realised that India was a third world country of dirt poor people that inspite of that were intelligent enough to do white collar work. India is currently the only country that is having a significantly negative effect on the skilled American worker. But there is no need to even break it down that far because sending technical jobs to India is not something that only is being done in the U.S. and its not something the started with GWB. Its has just gotten progressively worse in his administration, just as it did in Clinton's and just as it will regardless of who is in the white house, unless somebody really does come up with a plan to counteract this. I really don't believe for one second that given Kerry's voting record that he cares for anything other than sheer power. His constant flip flopping proves he has no core values and will do or say whatever he needs to, to get elected.
