Muenkel 0 #5 July 28, 2004 Alright, if we're going to be "Fair and Balanced", it wasn't that bad. I did see the whole interview. It was about 8 minutes long. The format they both agreed to was they were going to take turns asking eachother questions. It did sway from that format quite a bit on the part of both. I thought they both were pretty respectful of each other. MM seemed a bit on the defensive though. Some brief points that came out: MM never would have gone after the Taliban, but instead he said he would have concentrated on Al Qaeda in the Pakistan/Afghan border. He would not acknowledge that we removed the Taliban because there are still some members out there operating. MM made it very clear that (in his opinion) Bush lied to the country in regard to our reasons to invade Iraq. When Bill claimed it was not a lie, because of the intel fed to him by the CIA, Putin and Blair, amongst others; MM just would not accept that justification. MM also danced around the fact that we removed a brutal dictatorship by saying there are 38 other countries with brutal dictators. (IMO, having only 37 is better than having 38). When O'Reilly was asked if he would send his kid off to war to secure Fallujah, his answer was that he would go himself. Basically it was a very civil exchange...atleast I thought. In O'Reilly's summary he labeled MM as an idealogue and no matter what info you present to him, he will never see things differently than he does.
