DrunkMonkey 0 #26 July 27, 2004 Quote I never did quite get this, why is a manboobie okay to have all over the place but a girlboobie is not? Especially considering that some manboobs are bigger than some girlboobs. Because the people who set laws like this are fat, religious, sexually repressed puritanical chauvenists. skydyvr 0 #27 July 27, 2004 Quote>"Forcing Nipples on Children and Adults That Don't Want to See Them" What would have happened if a football player was tackled and his jersy was pushed up and he flashed his nipple? Same complaint? Some people percieve a difference between male and female nipples. But of course, since those people's beliefs differ from yours, you won't show them any respect, right? (not "you" as in you personally) You're just happy to shove YOUR paganistic belief system down THEIR throats -- that's what Janet did. It's cool when Janet shoves her belief system down the throats of Christians. But when Chritians do the same thing, there's hell to pay. . . =(_8^(1)

Contrary to what most Fundie nutjob zealots think, "Not Christianity" is not a religion onto itself. I'd prefer it if people kept their sexual/moral repression to themselves, and let the rest of us the fuck alone...

You don't necessarily have to be religious in order to possess a sense of decency and morals. I'm quite sure that it's not just the religious folk who might think that people covering themselves up is good thing. I'm also pretty sure that it's also not just the religious people who are setting or agreeing with rules like this. By the way, why must one be fat and sexually repressed in order to be religious? PhreeZone 20 #32 July 27, 2004 >But of course, since those people's beliefs differ from yours, you won't show them any respect, right? Does that apply across the board? Do we set our standards to the point that there is no one anywhere offended by something? All those people that are offended by fur should get to have fines levied everytime a fur coat is on TV, those people that are offended by people eating meat should see fines levied on stations for showing meat right? Do we set standards that are living breathing standards that can adjust as the standards of the culture evolve or do we set them at a level that can offend no one? Or should the standards be so they protect some that might be offended, but not everyone right?Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
freeflybella 0 #33 July 27, 2004 Another point to make might be that nudity is way oversexualized in our and many other cultures. It's a non-issue in many cultures. The repression comes from banning nudity or making it 'dirty' to resist 'temptation'. Personally, I wonder, why is it more decent and moral to be clothed? What's indecent or immoral about your body? Action expresses priority. - Mahatma Ghandi

Very good point. Much of this comes from the beliefs that people have which revolved out of religious stuff way back when. The sad thing is that the people who made up these rules were escaping from rules imposed upon them. I find daily that people are very willing to be hypocritical when it suits their own needs.~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. I could be wrong but I don't believe it mentions "boobies" per say. However, it does make reference to women and men covering up and dressing appropriately in reference to chastity. Of course, in some cultures, "boobies" aren't considered to be the sexual focus of desire that we in our culture make them out to be. "I like boobies!" I think that, for the most part, those that are that way are farther detached from Christianity.

If 'chastity' is the reason to cover girlboobies, how about necks since that can be way more eroginous than boobies? Or lips since they can be kissed? I would think that the Biblical reference would be more geared toward those pieces parts which can directly cause pregnancy or become pregnant. I never heard of a boobal pregnancy Mental note to check back issues of the National Enquirer to confirm that though. To the poster who liked girl boobies better (sorry, can't remember who offhand. I'm old.) Even as a completely straight girl, I think for the most part girl boobies are more asthetically pleasing parts than boyboobies. Especially men who need bigger bras than I do! pajarito 0 #38 July 27, 2004 C.S. Lewis states: “When people break the rule of propriety current in their own time and place, if they do so in order to excite lust in themselves or others, then they are offending against chastity.” Therefore, I don’t think it’s the particular body part that’s important (i.e. “boobies”). Like you said, a woman’s neck or even ankles used to be considered sexual. It’s all in one’s motive.
DrunkMonkey 0 #39 July 27, 2004 Chastity is boring. To quote Al Pachino as "John Milton in The Devil's Advocate: QuoteLet me give you a little inside information about God. God likes to watch. He's a prankster. Think about it. He gives man instincts. He gives you this extraordinary gift, and then what does He do, I swear for His own amusement, his own private, cosmic gag reel, He sets the rules in opposition. It's the goof of all time. Look but don't touch. Touch, but don't taste. Taste, don't swallow. Ahaha. And while you're jumpin' from one foot to the next, what is he doing? He's laughin' His sick, fuckin' ass off. He's a tight-ass. He's a sadist. He's an absentee landlord. Worship that? Never.
