TheAnvil 0 #3 July 26, 2004 The pinata of Madame Clintonista should be at the end as part of the celebration. And one pinata wouldn't do. Several would be needed. Teddy 'The Bottle', Daschle, and Bubba at a minimum should also have pinatas. Odd thing about that spelling - conservatives don't support racial discrimination. quade 4 #9 July 26, 2004 A lot of alliteration by sneaky sons shows scant subtly. Seriously, if a particular group fo people have been mistreated by other people, then they ususally don't vote for the oppressors. All one need do is look at who is voting for who and you'll see which parties are for and agaisnt which people.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
Trent 0 #10 July 26, 2004 Or which people are being conned and coddled by which party. You accuse the republican voters of being fooled by GWB all the time, is it such a stretch to think that the dems are fooling people?Oh, hello again!
quade 4 #11 July 26, 2004 Oh no. ALL politicians pander to a certain extent. Some politicians have built their entire careers based solely on what pork or other benefits they can bring back to their constituents. To think otherwise is simply to stick your head in the sand (which, some people do anyway). I guess the difference for me is that if you're going to rob one class of people for the benefit of another -- I'd rather be on the same side as Robin Hood.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
PhillyKev 0 #12 July 26, 2004 QuoteYou accuse the republican voters of being fooled by GWB all the time, is it such a stretch to think that the dems are fooling people? Both parties are trying to fool people. To deny that is to be fooled yourself. And remember... "There's an old saying in Tennessee - I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee - that says, fool me once, shame on - shame on you. Fool me - you can't get fooled again." -GWB
Trent 0 #13 July 26, 2004 My reply was to this: QuoteSeriously, if a particular group fo people have been mistreated by other people, then they ususally don't vote for the oppressors. All one need do is look at who is voting for who and you'll see which parties are for and agaisnt which people. I don't think that either party is for or against minorities. I think they're out for themselves. The dems just do better at kissing as much minority ass as they can. I don't think they really help them as opposed to giving lip service to get votes. Kev, did you just bring up GWB in the middle of a conversation about something else? Don't you always complain when people bring up clinton/blowjob/kerry sucks in unrelated arguments instead of dealing with the conversation at hand? Come now... you're a better debater than that! Robin Hood stole from the government (the nobility) to give back to the people what the government took from them. MC208B 0 #21 July 26, 2004 That "won't get fooled again" thing is a GWB classic! Love it! That's one of the things I love about President Bush, those verbal fuckupsBTW, I was a Bush supporter, voted for him in 2000. I still admire him in many ways, but the misadventure in Iraq has pretty much turned me against his reelection. I think I will vote libertarian this time. Of course my nephews reserve unit being activated and my nephew being in country (Iraq) in a couple months might have swayed my opinions too

quade 4 #23 July 27, 2004 The "Solid South" basically flipped after 1964. There's an interesting history web page http://www.umich.edu/~lawrace/votetour1.htm that breaks down the changes over the years. I'm not certain that I completely agree with their analysis, but they do seem to have the data to back up their theories. Certainly over the years both parties have changed enough that they no longer even remotely resemble what they once were.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
