AggieDave 6 #1 July 20, 2004 Has anyone read this? The articles are long, so I'll give you the quick run down and a list of links. Basically its the account of a women who witnessed what seems to be a security probing and a dry run of terrorists on a US flight in the US. Also delves into what isn't being done and how unsecure everything still is. Here's the list of links: Original article: http://www.womenswallstreet.com/WWS/article_landing.aspx?titleid=1&articleid=711 One of the sceptics early on: http://www.donaldsensing.com/2004/07/casing-northwest-327-threat-or-hoax.html Ann's response: http://www.womenswallstreet.com/WWS/article_landing.aspx?titleid=1&articleid=716 Here's the snopes link to save everyone some time: http://www.snopes.com/politics/crime/skyterror.asp Snopes isn't calling it a fake, everything seems to be working out as this being the truth.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." AggieDave 6 #3 July 20, 2004 Now see, I searched before I posted. I even searched with a couple different search strings, relating to the flight and I didn't find it. Damn. Atleast my initial post is more organized with more linkage.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

diverdriver 7 #6 July 20, 2004 I just had the same thing happen. Not a middle east conspiracy but an over paranoid passenger telling me that something was not right about a middle east looking man taking photos of the plane. Uh, do you know how many photos I'VE taken of the planes I fly? Am I a threat? Sheeeez people. Not every dark skinned man is "on a dry run" for another attack. Oh, and pilots haven't been instructed to make any announcements about gathering in places around the plane. This is bogus as far as I can see.

I've heard several announcements on recent flights about not congregating near the front lav... did you not get the memo? I took exception with that part of the article and the general hysterical paranoia they all have. edit: also that announcement is because 1st class passengers are mad that coach passengers are coming front to use their lav. Airlines are no longer allowed to pull a curtain closed to seperate the sections of the aircraft due to security. There's more to the story than middle eastern men congregating because they have to take a leak.
jdhill 0 #9 July 20, 2004 At least one was from the flight deck, wether it was the Captain or First Officer, I don't recall which... another was from a flight attendant. If the author's account was accurate, I think I would have been uncomfortable... I am certainly more aware of the people around me when on commercial airliners now, not just of people who look middle eastern, but of everyone... it is amazing how many people don't bother to turn off their cell phones, or other electronics when told to JAll that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
diverdriver 7 #10 July 20, 2004 Since 9/11 I have kicked off the following: 2 drunk ass rednecks who couldn't keep from saying stupid shit on the plane. A Korean couple that had a fist fight on my plane. And I have warned several other WHITE people that they are being more of a threat than anything else. PhillyKev 0 #11 July 20, 2004 Why are you profiling red necks, koreans, and white people? Surely that's how you figured out they were up to no good. Because as someone else stated numerous times recently, "Profiling Works!"

There's more to the story than middle eastern men congregating because they have to take a leak. I fly southwest. No first class there, trust me. It's more like a cattle call to board the plane, but they make the announcement every time I fly that a line cannot exist at the front lavatory due to federal regulation. And if they did have first class and if I did have enough money to fly first class, I wouldn't want a bunch of coach class people lining up to occupy my three square feet of bathroom heaven in the sky, either. Hey, let's not forget about the rednecks who blew up the Oklahoma City Federal Building; the worst terrorist act in the US up to that time. The NW 327 story seems a little contrived to me.
