turtlespeed 226 #153 July 22, 2004 Hah - just heard - (no no backup) but MM has offered to let anyone in vegas see his movie for free - But the Aladin has to apologise and reinstate her in the lineup. Guess noone will be seeing a free MM suckumentary!I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
PhillyKev 0 #154 July 22, 2004 Well considering I posted a few up that the ownership of the Aladdin has changed hands and the new owners have invited her back, sounds like they will be seeing it. Or they could always pay for it. But you conservatives don't want to do that and give MM any money. By the way, he's donating all the profits to charity. I can. Although I was a little misleading. Only 60% is going to charity. That's Moore's share. The Weinsteins get the other 40%. Oh yeah, and Disney gets to pick the charities. billvon 3,118 #158 July 22, 2004 >I pay to go to concerts to hear them play and sing...not blabber >their misguided and skewed political ideas. ----------------------------- LOS ANGELES (AP) - Linda Ronstadt (news) said she'll continue to praise Michael Moore and his film "Fahrenheit 9/11" on stage despite an angry reaction at a Las Vegas concert. "This is an election year," she told the Los Angeles Times Tuesday. "I want people to get their head up out of their mashed potatoes and learn something about the issues and go and vote. ... I'm not telling them how to vote. I'm saying, get information about the issues." ----------------------------- So the good news is that people now know that she does indeed include her opinion on movies in her concerts, and they can make their own decisions on whether to attend them or not. PhillyKev 0 #160 July 22, 2004 By the way, he's donating all the profits (that he gets) to charity. Do you expect him to donate someone else's money to charity? The point I was making if you would have included the whole post, was that MM is not profiting from the film. But feel free to continue your obfuscation. wmw999 2,588 #162 July 22, 2004 Tuna, do you ever have a positive thing to say to anyone about anything? Not everything is deliberate stupidity and lying. I didn't think that MM would be donating anyone else's profits to charity -- that's not his job. Could PK have been clearer? Yes, and he clarified. By never actually stating anything that's not a claim that someone else is wrong, you do somewhat protect yourself from being provably wrong, but you also protect yourself from contributing anything. happythoughts 0 #164 July 22, 2004 What if...? I went to a work site. I told my employers that I refused to do the work they requested. Instead of my work, I discussed my politics with them. If they disagreed with my politics, I questioned their intelligence and awareness. ("head...mashed potatoes"). Made them angry enough to not want to be around me. Be unapologetic about it and phrase it as their fault somehow. How long could I expect to be employed? Should I expect them to rehire me?

She's made it clear that her concerts involve singing and some politics. You are free not to go if you don't like it, or even to listen to Al Franken if you want to hear good stuff bout Michael Moore. A lot of bands make political statements - "This song is dedicated to our troops!" "We dedicate this song to the victims of 9/11." She's no different. Other bands dedicate songs to our troops, they even talk about the brave soldiers defending our freedoms, as Charlie Daniels has done on stage. I have a feeling one would make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside whereas the other would outrage you. That's fine; it's your money. If you want, go to the Charlie Daniels concert instead. It would be absurd for me to say "Hey, why doesn't Charlie Daniels just spend the whole concert talking about soldiers if that's his agenda?"
