I don't think doing yard work has any relationship to saving the environment (or not). I guess riding a bike would be closer, but it seems many politicians have trouble with that sometimes. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Maybe, he's just trying to piss off PETA. Funnily enough, Kerry's been pretty vocal in his support of the 2nd amendment, crappy partisan politics not withstanding. There are pro gun Democrats, just like there are pro choice Republicans, though they make up the minority in the governing bodies of their respective parties. Not every Democrat is a gun hater you know. Pretty much every registered Democrat I know owns a gun, and that's represented in the Congress to degree. I also regard myself as a liberal who supports gun rights.

I like how dirty leftist pinkos refuse to open a dialogue about Al Gore after a deliberate hijack of a thread. I think Kerry was actually hunting for wealthy widowed dowagers. That wasn't a real gun he had. It was a dart gun loaded with rohypnol. Taken out of the audio was the following: "This reminds me of when Ah was huntin' Chahlie on the Mekong. They wah weak and powahless, like Kopechne was tah Ted Kennahdy. "We ah approchin' a funeral. That Heinz lady is the one dressed in black. She's the tahget. Well, maybe Bush is trying to destroy everyone else's environment, but cares about his own... Just like Kerry and other liberals like Dianne Feinstein want to destroy Americans' right to own guns as long as they get to keep their own. (Feinstein is rabidly anti-gun but was found to possess a difficult-to-obtain California concealed carry permit even as she crusaded against gun rights in her state and in the U.S.) Maybe they're both all about "me my mine" and so their ads prove nothing? --Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... If you are they typical "liberal who supports gun rights," it probably means that you support them for yourself but don't trust anyone else in the population to have them. But really, what kind of crack are you smoking to say that Kerry is anything but an ardent enemy of 2nd Amendment rights?! His voting record is 100% hostile to guns and gun owners, and he has supported every possible restriction of them since he's been in congress. Just because he mouths the words, "I believe in the 2nd Amendment" means nothing when his actions are diametrically opposed. The funny thing is, he's so out-of-touch with the people that he really believes we're stupid enough not to know an anti-gun lying shitbag when we see one! Kennedy 0 #16 July 16, 2004 You are right, not EVERY democrat has been an enemy of the second amendment; Zell Miller comes to mind. However, most democrats are actively hostile towards your right to keep and bear, or they don't care enough to go against the party line. Kerry has been a perfect voting close of Ted Kennedy. He has voted the anti-gun line every time he was there to cast a vote.witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

TheAnvil 0 #19 July 16, 2004 Mr. Anti-Gun rights himself. Doesn't he have a zero percent lifetime rating from the NRA? Ahh well. Just shows his character more and more. He cannot campaign on his record or his platform. He has to pretend to be a conservative democrat when he's actually more of a socialist. Definitely an all out liberal - just like his running mate. Sad - many democrats support the second ammendment and this guy is trying to appeal to them via this deception. Oh well. JohnRich 4 #20 July 16, 2004 QuoteI love how Kerry is shown with a gun in his latest commercial, like he isn't trying to destroy the 2nd Amendment. Is this another flip-flop? It's not a flip-flop - it's being two-faced. He's still trying to be on both sides of every issue, to garner votes. Yeah, in his slick ads he claims to support hunters, and to be one himself, and is pictured carrying a shotgun in the field. But in the Senate he voted to ban the so-called "cop killer bullets" which can penetrate bullet-proof vests. The problem is, bullet proof vests only protect against *handgun* bullets, not rifle bullets. Thus, the bill which he voted for would have banned virtually all hunting ammo. That's the very same ammo needed by the hunters who he claims to support. So this is another one of those issues in which he is on both sides, simultaneously. "I support hunting and hunters, and I support banning hunting ammunition!" He's anti-gun. As bad as they come.
Kennedy 0 #21 July 17, 2004 Not only is he rated 0% by all the pro-gun groups, more importantly he is rated 100% by the brady campaign and VPC. He's basically another incarnation of Feinstein, or Ted Kennedy, or Chuck Schumer. Come to think of it, anyone have that picture of the four very strong anti-gunner acting all chummy? edit: to add picturewitty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
