Looking more and more like he was just plain AWOL. If true, I hope that doesn't a) start a trend or b) causes us to be less serious about kidnapping claims in the future.

Or MAYBE it is the result of a botched attempt by the Administration to fake yet another capture/murder to help draw attention away from the prison scandal, et.al.

Though you have to admit, those things do occur at pretty coincidental times.

Oh, I doubt that. While the administration has made some big mistakes in Iraq, I don't think they'd try anything like that. After all, things are slowly improving; time will probably do more for their image than a fake kidnapping would.
