Democrats want U.N. to monitor U.S. Elections

Recommended Posts

Well, noting the obvious idiocy of those quoted in the article, the writer must have felt right at home. That is one of the most poorly written and factually incorrect articles I've read in a long time.
(and I read the LATimes just a few days ago!)

edit:
oooh, a whole nine lawmakers out of the entire House of Reps.

The lawmakers said in the letter that in a report released in June 2001, the US Commission on Civil Rights "found that the electoral process in Florida resulted in the denial of the right to vote for countless persons."

I am still waiting to see these people being paraded around on the news. They've had three years to find them- where are they?

You know, you've got to wonder how many of these people disenfranchised themselves by not showing up to vote. That does seem to trump any issues at the booth.

I laughed really loud when I heard the claim that the police created fear for many voters by setting up a roadblock 2 miles from a voting place. I wonder if this is how the felons became disenfranchised?

The Damn-o-crats really had problems, but now, MORE THAN EVER, gee, first wanting 14 year olds to vote, then U.N monitoring election, what's next?, ask Al-Qaida for approval on the 'new elected' president to see if 'they like him' and avoid any confrontation?

Hey Democrats....KISS MY ASS!!! :D

This is definitely in the top ten dumbest things the demoKKKlaners have ever done.

They just LOVE the U.N. and all of its inanities. The left seems perfectly willing to give up our sovereignity to the U.N. bunglers.

So whats the problem? Its not uncommon in countries where a free and fair election is questionable. The administration got something to hide??

I did a Google search on "demoKKKlan" and was returned 0 results, so this actually is an original Anvilism.

Hmm, yeah, like the sovereignty we returned to the Iraqis? Hell, we'll be monitoring their elections.

Do you people really believe that we in the United States, stand alone above scrutiny. Out last election was widely disputed and unarguably decided in less than traditional democratic fashion - a Supreme Court decision swooned over by Republicans (you guys claim to hate activist judges). Alas, I guess that's really ok with ya'll as long as the fella they (not we) put in office agrees with your ideology.

But tell me the truth my Republican friends, would we have ever heard the end of it if the Supreme Court ruling had been 5-4 in favor of Mr. Gore and he just narrowly squeaked by for the win? I don't think so, and I think we all know it would be 4 more years of "Don't Blame Me..."

So, why not have the UN monitor us is my question. Do you people think the United States is perfect? Has there not been a history of corruption at all levels of our society including the government? Would a little oversight really be a loss of sovereignty? It is after all, your voice whose interest the UN would be protecting.

Never go to a DZ strip show.

Yes. :P

You're right it is not arguable that GWB won under our system. The check and balance of the Supreme Court verified the win. It was only disputed by a sore loser.

Probably not. Count as many chads as you want -- Gore lost. Get over it.

It's not like there are armed guards directing you how to vote or preventing votes. In fact, 2% of the voters votes for President are not counted for a variety of reasons including failure to vote for anyone. WTF are they going to monitor? What are we going to have 10's of thousands of people wandering around various polling places. That sounds like a good use of tax dollars. Are you kidding?

Corruption -- you mean like the democrat machine that existed in Chicago? Unions?

A little oversight would be a lot useless. Instead it would be another attempt for the UN to take over this country.... They've tried with guns, our military... I know you liberals would relish both, but isn't it about time you got over Gore's loss?

I USED to at least respect some of your opinions in the past, but that is the most ignorant fucking comment I have ever read. Equating Dems to the KKK? Are you serious? I won't even enter a debate about this online.

Flame on....

Actually, it's quite an appropriate analogy if you think about it. Equating the two - no. Do the two organizations have a lot in common? Absolutely.

When you kick the priest, try and find one who was convicted of molestation and kick him once for me. I'm too short to kick as high as the average man's nuts, so go for the kneecap. When hugging the abortion doctor[sic] I hope you find one with big knockers.

Dude - skydivexxl takes great pleasure in giving me shit about being Catholic and anti-abortion (though in truth my opinion is a far cry from that espoused by the Church with regards to governmental involvement in the issue). He's just mad because I've chided the left in such a manner. And because he's promised to buy me a bottle of tequila if I go see F911, though I haven't had the chance.

Hmmm...perhaps I should start a thread about that explaining my calumniation. Don't have time right now. Perhaps tomorrow. Or tonite if I get done with this bit of work.
