Rumors of Hillary Clinton becoming Kerry's running mate.

Recommended Posts

If this is true, the Clintons are making a huge statement that they truly believe Kerry will win come November. This would put off Hillary's supposed plans to run in '08 and move it to '12.

My opinion is if Hillary does accept the #2 job with the polls running so close, then GWB needs to replace Cheney with someone more viable.

As much as I hate admitting it, Hillary is quite popular and could be the thrust Kerry needs.

You really think so? I would think that would reduce his chances rather than improve them. Which vote will she pull in that Kerry won't? Maybe some New Yorkers, since they will be able to get rid of her, but I thought NY was going to Kerry anyway.

I'd much rather see John Edwards running in that spot. Hillary Clinton would divide the electorate and make it harder for some people to compromise. I don't think Edwards would have as much trouble with that, and I think that the ability to compromise and see both sides of issues is extremely valuable in actually moving things FOWARD, rather than in your own direction.

Edwards is great, I only wish he had the name recognition in the Northeast that would have won him the primary. He'll make a great VP candidate though, definitely makes Cheney just look like a mean old bastard, which, in retrospect, is what i guess he is.:D

I'd rather see Clark run as the VP. More military experience, more conserative in his views then Kerry, is considered an outsider for politics and mainly does not have any business ties that could cause potential conflicts of interst.

I can see that. I think Edward's ability to talk to people is better than Clark's, and, well, it's not like the VP actually does anything is it? :P

At one time, I was glad that Cheney was running with Bush because he was so much smarter (and he is). But he's also so much scarier.

I can't hardly wait for an actual announcement to be made on the VP thing.

It's not going to quiet all the goofy rumors and speculation, but at least most of the wacko conspiracy theories will go away.

The VP selection is the ONE thing the candiate gets to do between the primaries and the nomination. It's an important decision because it helps him show who's ideas he's aligned with. Traditionally the VP candidate also has to play the "bad cop" part -- saying the slightly controversial things the presidential candidate can't -quite- get away with.

I personally don't think Hillary is quite up to being VP either in qualifications or temperment.

I disagree completely; I think she is a very polarizing individual even within the party. As a matter of fact, you will find that people within the Bush campaign are secretly hoping she DOES end up on the ticket. Yes, that is inside information, not an opinion.

And I am sorry, "standing by your man" as he is called out by Congress for getting a blowjob from a flippin' intern in the Oval Office and blaming it on some "right wing conspiracy" does not show that you are "strong". As a liberal/democrat, I have not and will never forgive Bill Clinton for the damage he did to the Democratic agenda and legacy through his sloppy impulse control.

Saint Hillary! Save us!!!

:D

Some of us haven't forgotten how she and the co-president tried to cram socialized medicine down our throats.

LOL, I have to agree. I think Hillary would hurt Kerry. I've worked for Clark. He is not a very nice person and wasn't a very good general. I think Edwards would be the best nominee (since he is not considering Lieberman). At least he would balance out Kerry's extreme left views.

You just know that there is some woman out there that would whack Kerry to put Hillary into the drivers seat.

They are probably training her now at the secret NOW guerilla camp. Part of the "vast left wing conspiracy" that has been around since Nixon left office and had no target for their pent-up
"frustrations". ;) This is not an unsolveable problem, they just need a good man in their life.

Not this time around, but later. She'll run when she has the best chance of winning the nomination.

I'd like her run just to watch the far right implode with apoplexy, but then I'm like that.

I'd vote for her.

I've heard an interesting rumor that goes like this:
The Clintons want Kerry to run and lose because then Hillary can run in '08 for the top dog slot, not VP.
