He wasn't name calling. He even said that he doesn't hate them just their ideals. The reality is that Dems have socialist ideals. My parents escaped a Socialist/communist country and my X-wife grew up in the former Soviet Union. I can't begin to count how many times they told me stories about the evil/Socialist/Communist/left wing/or whatever you want to call it, ideals that they had the misfortune of having to deal with. Those same ideals matchup clearly with the daily Dem propaganda that I hear.

Talking about political issues isn't only about changing people's minds, if that's what you mean by "accomplish anything". It's called "dialogue" dude. Sharing ideas. And yes, it's often possible to learn something from someone else's perspective.

Yea, there's a lot of repetitive crap in here, but I don't think it's as horrible as you describe.
