miked10270 0 #27 August 23, 2004 Now I'm confused Are we voting for Badnarik 'cos he's a Libertarian? 'Cos he's a Skydiver? 'Cos he's a Fag? 'Cos he hates transsexuals like PJ? 'Cos he ain't Bush? 'Cos he ain't Kerry? 'Cos he doesn't use Heinz Beans to fuel his verbiage? Does he have a verifiable military record? Mike. . It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

His Libertarian affiliation is both good and bad from my point of view; I think he would bring some much-needed new thinking to DC, although I would not want the entire libertarian platform enacted as written. But there's no way that will happen; at best, one of the parties will absorb some of the principles, and that will improve things.
Bodyflight.Net 0 #31 August 24, 2004 QuoteAre we voting for Badnarik 'cos he's a Libertarian? I'm voting Badnarik for several reasons but mainly it is the Libertarian standpoint on Medical Marijuana and the "War on Drugs" It's about time some of the lies are corrected, the truth is told and these governmental hipocrits are dealt with!!!! If you want to know why else I'm voting for him.. take a look at the Issues http://www.badnarik.org/Issues/
kallen 0 #32 August 24, 2004 I'm still undecided on my vote but on July 4th I did 2 demo jumps into a political rally that featured Michael. I had read about his skydiving connection in this forum so of course I ragged him about doing one of the demo jumps with us, 3 piece suit and all. He hung out with our demo team while we packed, etc. I asked him to sign my logbook and he wrote: "JUST SO YOU KNOW - FIGHTING FOR LIBERTY IS THE ONLY THING THAT COULD DRAG ME AWAY FROM SKYDIVING FOR THREE YEARS. NEVER FEAR. I'M GOING TO RESTORE LIBERTY SOON, AND THEN I'LL BE BACK IN THE AIR! BLUE SKIES + HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! MICHAEL BADNARIK D-13144 Pretty cool guy for a Presidential Candidate. Edited to fix spelling.
jumper03 0 #33 August 24, 2004 A quote from Badnarik I like..... "I would announce a special one-week session of Congress where all 535 members would be required to sit through a special version of my Constitution class. Once I was convinced that every member of Congress understood my interpretation of their very limited powers, I would insist that they restate their oath of office while being videotaped." PhillyKev 0 #34 August 24, 2004 Interesting idea, but ironically, I don't think HIS limited constitutional powers would permit that.
skybytch 273 #35 August 24, 2004 QuoteAre we voting for Badnarik 'cos he's a Libertarian? 'Cos he's a Skydiver? If he becomes president then maybe those signatures (it was Mike "Freefall" Badnarik back then) in my first logbook could be worth some money. So vote for him. If for no other reason than because I need the money.
miked10270 0 #36 August 24, 2004 And... Skydiving reclassified as a Federally funded sport? Tax breaks - like money spent on skydiving (jumps and kit) becomes tax-deductible? No sales taxes on fuel, aircraft, DZs, etc... AFF courses to be available as an alternative to Drivers Ed? Massive market in "The President Jumped me" bumper stickers for former tandem passengers? And of course... SkyBytch's new "T" Shirt; "Me and President Badnarik have had loads of jumps! 3-ways, 4-ways and more!" With a 1-900 number for details. Mike. . miked10270 0 #38 August 24, 2004 But Bush and Kerry are buying votes (for what else are election promises but a promise that "If you vote for me you'll have more money")? Badnarik just needs to get with the programme and spend the greatly reduced tax income where it'll do (us) most good. Mike. . I'm voting for him too but I'm a bit worried that the tax evasion and quotes about blowing up the UN building will hurt him. If you haven't read it, there's an interesting article I'll try to find the link to about how he came about the Libertarian nomination. Literally came out of no where while the top two candidates were squabbling. Jump -----------Scars remind us that the past is real

True, but I think the fact that almost no one is going to vote for him no matter what he did is going to hurt him a lot more. He doesn't have the money to mount a massive campaign. He doesn't have the money to mount a massive campaign. We could all do our part to support his campaign. The internet when used correctly can be a VERY cost effective way of obtaining support. I created a Badnarik ad of my own, placed it on our Bodyflight Network site home page, as well as created a page which explains our views a bit and provides links over to Michael's site. I donated the ad to the campaign and have volunteered whatever services I can provide. If we all did something to help, it would certainly add up. Maybe just maybe in the NEXT election, they wouldn't consider my vote a 'throw away' anymore.
