If we stopped the war on drugs, we could direct that money to education and prevention and treatment of addicts. 60 BILLION a year is currently spent on the war on drugs. Stopping the war on drugs will cost taxpayers LESS.

Don't forget we'd be taxing the drugs that are sold. So not only would we not be spending 60 billion a year on the war, but we'd be earning tax money off the sale of the drugs just like we do with tobacco and alcohol.

As for really hard drugs, it might be best to have the government sell them directly through a supervised program. The program should be structured to either get the addicts off of hard drugs or work to prevent as much harm as possible these people will do to others through their use of drugs.

That is most idiotic drabble I have ever read.
Government distributing crack?! Real wise!
The idea is to elevate society not lower it to bassest element.
Freedom also means being able to raise your kids in a healthy environment. Government spends way too much on lazy asses now; let alone paying for their habits.
I think 'it might be best to have the government sell' skydives 'directly through a supervised program.'
See how niave and humorous your argument sounds.

Why is it more ridiculous than state-run liquor stores in Utah? Because you partake of alcohol, so alcohol is OK?

Yeah, the idea is so funny the UK has already tested the idea and the top cops in that country want to expand it.

I have a question.
How does our country look to the rest of the world when for the past 20-or-so-years we have been losing a "War on Drugs". What we cant win a war against people on drugs? How bad is that? How many other wars have gone on this long spending this much money with no real improvment? Gives me a warm fuzzy just thinking about it......

We had better not let the terrorist find out, next thing you know they will all be on drugs and then we will never win the "War on Terrorism"...

I'm not sure if you are serious about winning the war on terrorism, but I'll give my opinion as there are some people in this thread that support it just like the war on drugs.

Only way to "win" war on terrorism or war on drugs is to kill every human on this planet.

And like some have already pointed out, should be make skydiving illegal?
We do skydive for the same reason we use different substances: to feel better/worse.
With right drugs it would (atleast likely) be possible to create exactly same feeling you get from skydiving.
Anything you do just mix the adrenalin/serotonin/dopamine/endorphin/etc balance on your body and that makes you feel different.
