I can understand why alcohol was made illegal for a while in the US.

It tears apart families.

I'm just fed up with its effect on my family. I wish I could revoke my wife's right to drink.

I am sorry you are going through this, my now ex live in girlfriend got drunk pretty much 3-5 times a week, so I know some of what you are going through....... Have you tried talking to her while she is sober about it?

alcohol hurts more than it helps. that being said, alcohol is a poor excuse for otherwise poor decisions. good luck cliff and i'll see you in the SGC plane of choice!!

I just had to talk with my best friend about his alcohol problem a few months ago. It can really fuck up people's lives.

My mom is a recovering alcoholic. She's sober 9 years this year. It was very hard on my family when I was growing up - can't even count the number of times my folks said they were going to get divorced

Al-Anon really helps. I attended a 'teen' version of it, and it helps you understand your role in their abuse. You may not think you have a role, but you do (by 'role' I mean how you react to it, not that you cause it).

Through perseverance, love and understanding, my parents are happily married and love each other even more now.
