billvon 3,119 #77 June 4, 2004 >This proves the opposite that you intended- that as a whole the >people reporting the news are on the left. You just said "And whenever that happens, the outlet usually becomes wildly popular." FOX is not more popular than all the other outlets combined, the bunch of which you consider the liberal media. So either right-wing sources are wildly popular or left-wing outlets are more popular. Which is it? Keep in mind if you choose the former, you cannot say "most of the popular media is liberal." If you choose the latter, then you have to admit that people want liberal news. This often presents a dilemma for conservatives. For them to bash the liberal media, they have to claim that it's the media themselves choosing what sort of vile left-wing propaganda to put on their networks. That's a problem, because people in this country, not the government, decide which news shows are successful, based on their content. That means conservatives are forced to admit that either more people simply _want_ a liberal media, or that there is some vast left-wing conspiracy, an angle that quickly leads to tinfoil hats. PhillyKev 0 #78 June 4, 2004 Quoteor that there is some vast left-wing conspiracy, an angle that quickly leads to tinfoil hats. Personally, while donning my tin foil hat I came to the conclusion it is a right wing conspiracy. Since most of the news outlets that are supposedly liberal biased are owned by conservatives, it's part of a plot. They are trying to show impartiality so that there's not too much of a stink over the massive consolidation taking place. Once one or two companies secure the entire media world, it will be safe for them to change all their programming into the brain washing, gov't controlled, pro New World Order tripe that FOX broadcasts. We are in bigger trouble than I thought, but it isn't Bush doing it as lots of you would have us beleive... it's your average discerning liberal viewers. Oh my...Oh, hello again! It's really hard for me to respond further to your post, since it is all based on a falsehood.. Facts that shouldn't be contested: 1) strong left leaning in journalists 2) strong right leaning in media owners It's curious that this is remains true. I don't think the bottom line is affected much by people's dislike of the bias on the news. Or perhaps it is inevitable that as journalists become more celebrity like, they go Hollywood and want to save Tibet, dogs, and lost causes. 3) barriers to entry are very high in the TV world. While anyone can try to open a new cable/dbs channel and get carriers to provide it, getting on the VHF spectrum is nearly impossible.

Kennedy 0 #83 June 5, 2004 Have him bring the Conan broadsword and the Terminator M-134. (aka mini gun, vulcan cannon; see attached) I'm sure he would have their attention. If that doesn't work, threaten them with required book reports on Mrs. Ahnold's latest release. It appeared that the weapon Arnold had in T2 was a General Electric minigun, M-134/GAU-2b. It fires a 7.62 mm round from 6 rotating barrels at peak cyclic rates of up to 6,000 rpm. Barrel rotation is powered by an electric motor. The "ammo chain" is actually an enclosed feeder. The bullets are inside of this feeder. That is why it appears to not move. If you look losely, you'll see a steady stream of spent cartridges dropping out of the bottom of the weapon. (I must be slipping, I actually had to look up the name of the monster cannon used in Terminator 2) witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
