That's why they hired him.

And, remember he's been hired as a commentator -- not an anchor or reporter -- a commentator. He's -supposed- to have a viewpoint that keeps you interested.

If they want to give facts and figures, those will come from Brokaw.

Haahaahaa...

That should be number three amongst the top lies told throughout the world:

1. I won't cum in your mouth
2. The check is in the mail
3. There is no liberal bias in the media

:S;):P
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

For the Nth time: It is a free country. If a conservative wishes to start a newspaper or buy a TV or radio station to promote his views, there's absolutely nothing to stop him. If there exists a bias (which I dispute) then the conservatives have only themselves to blame.

If you really dispute this fact, then you do not watch much TV, including national tv news, reading the national newspapers, local newspapers. etc.

I read all the above. Sometimes I agree with the liberal and sometime the "the right". But I am not a closed minded person as you seem to be, and you are very set in your mind, know matter what is right or left.

OR you only read, view, or go to the movies that promote your stance.

I know you are a very bright person. However, you are set in your ways and have a closed mind.

PS: I am very proud of your son for serving our country. God speed to him, and a safe return to you.

Proud of you for rasing a soldier. :)

And whenever that happens, the outlet usually becomes wildly popular, for example Fox News and numerous conservative magazines and talk radio shows. Why? People are tired of the long-time stranglehold liberal news outlets had on America for so long (NBC, ABC, CBS, etc.).

BTW, how's Airhead America radio doing lately?

7% of national journalists claim to be conservative. 34% claim to be liberal. The rest are somewhere between, probably mostly left leaning moderates. Those numbers indicate a huge potential for bias.

So you are arguing that popular media is conservative. No argument there, but you seem to be contradicting the premise of the thread.

>BTW, how's Airhead America radio doing lately?

Franken's show is doing considerably better than Limbaugh's show in several markets.

So why don't you do something to correct the balance - start your own newspaper or buy a radio station?

Otherwise, stop whining.

Another brilliant 2 line response.

Is it just me, or are you starting to sound like the people you despise. Maybe you should read some of the posts you've put up and take your own advice.

As for starting a newspaper... give me a few years.
Oh, hello again!

Nah, I lived in NY for 7 years, I've heard enough of Big Al's BS for a lifetime. Certainly they could have come up with someone other than the Jerry Springer of pseudo-politics... oh wait there's already a Jerry Springer of pseudo-politics... but you get the idea.

If we did that, we'd just hear more whining from the left. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1058655#1058655

Sorry for the multiple posts - but I'm just catching up.

I guess it is subjective - if you have Kerry's views then there is _noone_ on the left and everyone is right of his political(not personal) views.

Wait there MIGHT be some radicalls that are still a little bit left of sKerry, but the percentage is more like .0000074524% (not an exact figure)

But that will change soon, as the Communist Party welcomes him back from his leave of absence.

The US media represents a free market in ideas and has done for years. Anyone can start a newspaper and, if wealthy enough, own a radio station.

Free markets balance supply and demand. Ergo we might conclude that the status quo fairly accurately represents the balance in the population as a whole. So if YOU think there's a liberal bias, the probability is that the bias is yours, in the other direction. NO-ONE is stopping you from starting your own media outlet.

Instead of being insulting, how about explaining the error (if any) in my statement.

BTW, Brokaw is doing specials on D-Day this week.

Even if you think he's a tool of the "liberal media elite" you should -probably- be watching them. They're quite good.

I -seriously- doubt anything of this quality is being done elsewhere for the occasion.

I say Sharpton is a jackass and I'm whining, according to you. You asked for an explanation for my statement:

http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1100604;#1100604 Whine

http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1101007;#1101007 Whine

http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1101042;#1101042 Whine

http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1100428;#1100428 Whine

http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1090497;#1090497 Whine

But that's just my opinion. I don't see how it is any more insulting than you telling me to stop whining. I just felt it was odd hearing someone telling me to stop whining when they take every chance they get to whine about Bush, Guns, etc.

Honestly, I'm not going to whine about Sharpton being a liberal icon/pundit. If that's who's gonna represent liberal views, I'll just continue to laugh my ass off.

Sharpton hardly represents the views of all people left of center.

That said, he is a very promenent figure in certain communities and can give some insight to their view of the world if you'll only listen. Doesn't mean he's right or wrong, but simply able to see things that you or I might not.

That, and he has a big mouth. That's good TV in anybody's book. ;) And again, that's why they hired him.

Listening to his ridiculous drivel for a few years was enough. I know he doesn't represent ALL the lefties, and I HOPE he doesn't represent that many of them. I doubt he has much insight into anything outside of his narrow view of the world and the people that hang around him.

Yeah, he does have a big mouth... and subscribes to the school of debate that says "He who shouts the most wins". He and Jerry Springer would be great running mates someday.

I'd love to just see them all in a debate. Get Jerry Springer, Sharpton, Rush, Howard Stern, Al Franken and Ann Coulter in a room and let em go at it. Sell tickets and give the money to charity; you could feed the world for a year, given the amount of drama and good old fashined entertainment they could produce.

I agree with you! I knew the day would come!

It would be like Wrestlemania for politics. I think Ann would end up scratching some eyes out for sure. Jerry would have "Steve" beating some ass too I bet.

That's be a sight! Or rather a very loud sound. Who the heck would they get to moderate it? :o
